Social Security's outlook is uncertain: strategist

Social Security may encounter challenges in the years ahead.

"Yeah, they are [at risk]. Because you're getting this situation where you're running a prolonged deficit, that it becomes so unsustainable that you have no choice but to cut those programs. And that's the challenge," Fed Watch Advisors Ben Emons told Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi on his Opening Bid podcast.

Retirees could see cuts to Social Security benefits as early 2033 based on current policies, according to a recent report from the Social Security Administration.
