Hey Game professional! ✍ Can you spare few moments to share your expertise about the content of your work? What are the essential skills and competencies you utilize in your day-to-day work, what are the particles that help you grow in your career? Answer our short survey: https://lnkd.in/ghgzxJs4 💡 Gamebadges has a goal of updating a Game Industry related Competence Map to include as many essential professions of the industry as possible. Now we would need your, the professionals, input on how we are doing! We have a mock up version of the map structure ready to be commented. The prototype is based on extensive survey and over 20 interviews we conducted during spring and early summer of 2024. ⏭ Next step is to write the content of each profession and individual competences, but before we head to that, we need to know that the structure is correct. My three key takeaways from the latest data (2022) on the state of the European game industry 1. 🇵🇱 Poland is now, together with France, the country with the largest game industry talent base. As a result of political instability in Belarus and the Russian war in Ukraine, the Polish game industry has grown by 3000 people per year for two years in a row now. 2. 🇸🇪 Sweden is the leading hotspot for game industry start-ups. For four years now, the number of studios has increased by roughly 100 studios per year. 3. 🇪🇺 Although the growth of the European game industry's combined turnover slowed significantly, the number of game developer studios and the people employed by them continued to increase in most countries.

A total of around 15,000 people are employed in the games industry of the Nordic countries. With around 1,400 companies that develop computer and video games and a total turnover of almost seven billion Euro, the region is one of the strongest and largest in Europe.
