Faris (Earth Land)

Faris (ファリス Farisu) is the Black Wizard (黒魔導士 Kuro Madōshi) succeeding Zeref Dragneel,^[1] as well as the one who embodies the will of Acnologia to destroy everything.^[2]

Appearance

Faris is a slim, young-looking woman of average height with prominent eyebrows. The ends of her hair are sausage curled, bundled into multiple thick strands in the back. She dons a nun-like dress with exceptionally long sleeves. She wears a headdress with two black roses.^[1] Her left arm is a bulky robotic limb that resembles Acnologia's.^[3]

Personality

Faris is a malevolent girl, carrying on the destructive will of Acnologia.^[2]

History

After Acnologia's arm was bitten off by Igneel, Faris located it and was given its power.^[2]

At some point Faris became aware of the identities and nature of her counterparts from Edolas and Elentear.^[4]

Synopsis

100 Years Quest arc

As Natsu Dragneel came face-to-face with Ignia, Faris suddenly arrived in a torrent of Black Magic,^[5] stating her belief that the True Dragon King Festival could not begin without a Black Wizard. Natsu seems to recognizes her as the Faris he knows but Ignia notices she feels similar to Acnologia.^[6]

Natsu then questions if she’s actually the Faris of Edolas, but she corrected him saying she is in fact the Earth Land version. Ignia however doesn’t care as he’s more interested why her power is akin to Acnologia's which shook those present. He tries to blast her away with his flames to continue his conversation with Natsu, but she blocked it with her hand while emitting a dark aura, this clash caused destruction on opposite ends of the castle. Faris revealed that her left arm is not only mechanical, but also resembles Acnologia's, revealing that she made use of the Black Dragon's limb that Igneel tore off in their fight, granting her the power of black darkness and embodying his will to destroy everything.^[7]

Ignia then orders the Signario sisters to commence the process to begin the True Dragon King Festival, the sisters conjure fire that envelopes the whole building, this causes all the sealed Dragon Gods to be forcefully Dragonized which also shocks Faris, causing destruction to their surroundings just from transforming.^[8]

Magic and Abilities

Black Magic (黒魔術 Kuro Majutsu): As the Black Wizard,^[1] Faris has command over Black Magic, emerging from a massive pillar of it into the Fire God's Castle.^[6]

Dragon Slayer Magic (滅竜魔法 Metsuryū Mahō): Having gained power from Acnologia's arm, Faris is a Black Magic Dragon. Thanks to this Magic her left arm appears as a smaller version of the arm of Acnologia's Dragon Form.^[3]

Immense Magic Power: Faris has been shown to possess an immense amount of Magic Power, even capable clashing with Ignia's fire used while in his Human form.^[5][9]

Equipment

Mechanical Black Dragon Arm: Faris possesses a mechanical black arm modelled after Acnologia's, concealed within her sleeve that allows her to utilize the Black Dragon's power. It was strong enough to withstand a powerful flame punch from Ignia while in Human form.^[3]
