Naked Energy’s Virtu solar products meet the needs of commercial and industrial consumers, providing a renewable source of hot water and heat that is particularly successful for hotels, multi-family apartments, social housing, schools, hospitals, food & beverage, textiles, and paper manufacturing. Naked Energy’s products generate more energy per square metre than any other solar technology – proven to be up to four times more impactful at offsetting CO2 emissions than conventional solar PV panels – meaning they’re ideal for high-energy consumers, especially those without the space for traditional solar panels. The high-performance solar collectors generate heat up to 120°C, suitable for hot water or for pre-heat and process heat in many industrial environments. And thanks to the modular assembly and compatibility with multiple roof types installation can be faster and cheaper. Coral reefs are vital to sustaining fisheries, driving tourism, and protecting coastlines, directly supporting over 500 million people through their economic impact and ecosystem services. By fostering abundance and maintaining biodiversity, coral reefs ensure the viability of fisheries. In the United States alone, reef habitats contribute over $100 million annually to the fishing industry, with nearly half of federally managed fisheries depending on reefs for part of their life cycle. The vibrant and diverse marine life found in coral reefs attracts tourists to coastal communities, generating millions of jobs in hospitality, recreation, transportation, and other industries. This tourism infusion contributes $36 billion to the global economy each year. Coral reefs also serve as natural barriers for coastlines, protecting against storms and storm surges. For the 45,000 miles (71,000 km) of coastline with coral reefs, these natural defenses reduce wave energy by 97%, shielding around 200 million people from the full force of powerful storms. Overall, the coastal protection, tourism, recreation, fishery support, and biodiversity provided by coral reefs' ecosystem services are valued at $9.9 trillion USD globally each year. Despite their immense value, coral reefs have declined by 30-50% since pre-industrial times due to human activities. Protecting these essential ecosystems is crucial for the future of our planet and the livelihoods they support.

🎉 Guess what? It's our 10th BIRTHDAY! 🎉 A decade ago, our founders, Cristina Aleixendri Muñoz, José Miguel Bermúdez Miquel, and David Ferrer Desclaux, were inspired by a realization: over 80% of the goods we use and consume are transported by sea, significantly impacting the environment. As engineers and problem-solvers at heart, they knew they had to find a solution. With their background in aeronautical engineering, they had spent their professional lives studying the aerodynamics of airplane wings. They saw that the shipping industry's challenge was high fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. The innovative solution? Installing modern suction sails, similar to airplane wings, to co-propel ships. 🚢 Last week, we celebrated our milestone by gathering our people for a team-building day. We enjoyed company updates, fun Olympic-style games, and activities to help us get to know each other better. The sun shone, and laughter filled the air all day long. Naked Energy is proud to be recognised by Forbes as one of five UK growth firms to watch. While the economic recovery of the country is progressing, and with a fresh new The Labour Party government at the helm, it’s important that the course is set again to achieving net zero and UK businesses providing innovative green technology are adequately supported. To a new government we say that the UK has hundreds of small businesses producing innovative renewable technology that can provide our energy needs. What’s been holding them back is an inconsistent and uncertain policy and investment environment. This is particularly relevant for decarbonising heat. It’s responsible for about 37% of total UK carbon emissions, yet is consistently forgotten about in the rush to electrify everything. It would be wise not to neglect heat - we can’t reach net zero without renewable heat.
