…the request for simple edits at the pop-culture page, Dove Cameron.

And while doing, perhaps consider the continuing need (or lack thereof) for the editing restriction on the article. A single individual causing a bit of bother should not shut down editing for all. The request submissions—and these Talk out-reaches—take valuable time away from improving articles. Perhaps we should be allowed to JUSTFIXIT.

Note, the second paragraph of the request I entered is not specific enough to be acted upon immediately; but, absent the freedom to actually perform the edits, WP cannot expect talented others to put in a time to resolve a pressing question, only to submit it with just a hope that the edit will be taken. (If you want the time and literature research needed to suggest the specific change—In this case, the question being why she presents the last name Cameron when her birth name is Hosterman—then you will need to free up the editing, so that one does not have to go through request.)

Cheers, thank you for your service, and all the holiday best. 2600:1008:B123:A32D:302B:423F:E843:C81F (talk) 20:27, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thanks for taking the time to express your concerns with the article. If you take a look at the article's protection log, you'll see that the article has needed protection on 12 separate occasions over the last eight years due to ongoing violations of Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy, so it's unlikely that the article will be unprotected for awhile. That said, if you'd like to make the request for the article to be unprotected, you should address that to the administrator who last protected the article (which you can also find in the protection log). Other than that, I'd encourage you to register a Wikipedia account! Once your account meets the criteria to be autoconfirmed, you'll have access to edit that article yourself and would no longer need to make edit requests to the talk page. If I can assist further, please let me know! ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 20:57, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Account Creation Barnstar
I have barely spent a month at ACC and I have come to realize how tasking it is, this is a special thank you for all your tireless efforts at ACC, the encyclopedia is indeed very lucky to have dedicated experienced users like yourself working at ACC. Celestina007 (talk) 00:25, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Celestina007: Thanks! I know that ACC can be pretty detailed and fiddly; if I can do anything to help you out please let me know. Contacting me here or by email is probably more reliable than IRC (I idle there all the time but am often not at the keyboard). ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 16:17, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Awwwnnn you’re such a sweetheart, thank you whenever I’m confused I’d do well to mail you. You guys have been nothing but patient and caring for me. It is really a family I am happy to be proud of. Celestina007 (talk) 17:03, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:25, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
