Greetings

[edit]

My first edit (that is, not in user space) took place here at 21:27, 23 July 2009 (server time).

A point of reference from which to ascertain the meaning of my handle "argumzio" can be this article; and excluding this one associative point, I share no affiliation and possess no party-feeling with Hildegard of Bingen, etc., etc.

Be that as it may, should you not be convinced by this, it is also thoroughly possible that "argumzio" is a colligation of "argum-" from "argumentative" and "zio" from the Italian "zio", meaning "uncle"; therefore, "argumzio" would actually be an "argumentative uncle".

What to do?

If you have any comments, questions, profound opinions, harangues, keyboard grime and spittle, and so forth to share with me, then please bring them to my attention at my talk page here: thank you very much.

If you are inclined to avoid having a public discussion, then you can also contact me by email.

My work

[edit]

My habit so far consists in modifying articles' lead paragraphs by endowing them with the most general, comprehensive, fruitful, and accurate content (provided, of course, that this is necessary). I tend to rely on sources as any good Wikipedian should when making such changes. In my view, if the lead paragraph is clear, concise, and forceful, then the rest of the article will naturally follow thence.

Other than that I tend to focus on correct formatting, grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors, and the like, since these simply buzz all-too-vividly around me like annoying gnats.

My interests are too many to list, so I will not bother enumerating them.

Why?

[edit]
When in doubt, you should consult this handy-dandy pyramid. Hint: blue and up is where the adults play.

Wikipedia is an excellent means for me to organize my own scholarly research projects, to present them in an organized and coherent fashion, to expand on infrequently encountered topics, and to whittle away what little spare time I have left in the day. As that would have it, I tend to ignore partisanship in whatever its importunate, unreflecting, petty manifestations; and should I cross its path, my usual tendency is to ignore it (and the victimized article) completely or for a long time,—no use in getting my tights (should I be wearing any) in a twist,—even if this proves to be a disservice to human knowledge. (I think the long-term trajectory of this project will rectify such issues. After all, information seeps through even the most imperceptible of cracks (as wikileaks' example shows). And all the nooks of the demagogues don't exactly hold water, for that matter....) I hope to aid others in their understanding of various issues I find interesting, at the very least.

Oh, and—contrary to the aforementioned abandonment protocol in myriad cases of partisanship—I can quiddle through my quixotic quiddity a fair amount by battling the windmills here.

  • Be careful, many looney tunes lurk on WP with various spasms of incontinent rage. My heart goes out to the fellow who has to deal with this on a regular basis, especially considering how insane and inane his attacker is.

(You may not ask why these relate to QM.)

Care for a laugh or two? Read this.

Oh, was that not quite your cup o' tea? Then give this a once-over; indeed, the Immortality Institute can put its eleemosynary enormity at ease.

As if the above were not enough, this looks as though some individual/hivemind took to a fancy based on dimly apprehended concepts/ideas/hearsay/opinions/excrement and spewed them forth like a magical wonder.

Personalities

[edit]

Certain recurring personalities crop up during one's stroll through the streets of WP. It is wise to keep a close eye on them lest they turn around and bust one up unexpectedly; in other cases, they may be listed for entertainment/amusement purposes.

  • Lestrade (talk · contribs): seen spraying the fount of his pithy, prodding wisdom pretty much anywhere, usually where/when it isn't wanted (good for us!).
