The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is an American animated television series based on and a reboot serving as a continuation to the Nickelodeon animated series The Fairly OddParents (2001–2017) created by Butch Hartman. It is the third series in the franchise, after The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder (2022). The series premiered with a sneak peek on May 17, 2024, with the series officially premiering on May 20, 2024.[1][2] It will also premiere internationally on Netflix.[3]

Premise

Serving as a continuation of the original series, The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish tells the story of Hazel Wells, a 10-year-old girl who has recently moved to the city of Dimmadelphia because of her father's new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it is also the first time she has been without her older brother, Antony, who left to start college, leaving her feeling lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when their pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal themselves to be no ordinary neighbors, but fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda, who come out of retirement to become Hazel's fairy godparents.[4][5]

    • Trev, a student at Hazel's school and Dev's friend.
    • Peri (formerly known as Poof), Dev's fairy godfather and the now grown-up son of Cosmo and Wanda. He was voiced by Tara Strong in the original series.
    • Irep (formerly known as Foop), the anti-fairy counterpart of Peri. Bauza reprises his role from the original series.

Production

In June 2023, trademark registrations attached to Paramount Global and Nickelodeon were made.[21]

In July 2023, Norris confirmed that a new Fairly OddParents project was in the works.[22]

In January 2024, an unfinished version of the first episode "Fly" was also leaked.[23]

The series, which was now titled The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, was officially announced by Nickelodeon on February 23, 2024. 20 episodes were ordered for the first season.[4] The series is produced by FredFilms, Billionfold Inc., and Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, California.[24]

The CG animation was produced by Giant Animation in Dublin.

Hazel and Antony set out to save them after they learn more about each other's lives after they left each other.

Meanwhile, Cosmo, Wanda and Peri discover Dale Dimmadome's secret room and find out that he has been investigating Hazel since Founder's Day. Hazel, Dev, Jasmine and Winn come up with a plan to take down Vicky and save the other kids. They manage to get her to leave after a few attempts, but when Dev discovers his dad has been focusing more on Hazel and her fairies than him, he has another falling-out with her.
