Program vs programme inconsistency

This very sidebar uses both words in the article names it lists. Soviet space program, but Luna programme.--Adûnâi (talk) 00:14, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes ... That's inherent in the nature of Wikipedia's acceptance of and policy towards national varieties of English. You won't get very far trying to pass a law requiring consistent spelling in all article titles. And since the purpose of this template is navigation to Wikipedia articles, there is no requirement that the spelling be cconsistent. (Spelling consistency guidelines would apply to text within articles, not to navigation templates.) Please also check our strong national ties guideline. British editors tend to favor the Soviet programs, but since this is the English and not Russian Wikipedia, there is no recognized "strong national tie". National ties are recognized to European and American programs, of course. JustinTime55 (talk) 21:12, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
