[edit]

This article is too biased on the vision of webofthings.org guys. The term "web of things" is somehow prior art and cannot be limited to the vision of a RESTful interconnection of object. I cite at least two previous works in the field that coined the term "web of Thing" without limiting to REST services. Web of things vision cannot let aside web services languages and tools.

Merge with Internet of Things?

[edit]

Could this article be merged somehow with Internet of Things? Pdxuser (talk) 21:36, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure that would be a good idea. In the research community, we tend to see the WoT as distinct from IoT. You can see this in the fact that there are WoT workshops/Symposia etc separate from IoT venues. I think also that the WoT community tends to define itself as "more than" or "different from" IoT. So I'd vote to keep a separate WoT page. Rodgerlea (talk) 17:21, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I also agree with the previous comment. From the standardization point of view, WoT related topics are also not discussed in Internet standardization groups but Web standardization groups. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Egekorkan (talkcontribs) 14:19, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I also agree, it should be merged. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alkis0 (talkcontribs) 15:23, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
