2007?

[edit]

The voting periods for the 2005 and 2006 Inductees were October 2004 and 2005 respectively. There hasn't been any nomination or voting for 2007 in 2006 though (or in 2007 so far). Has Sony already given up on the WoG?

I'm also wondering what's up. I thought this was a great idea, but it now seems to be death... --62.225.37.69 09:02, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I thought it was kind of ridiculous to begin with. Blowing through 4 game franchises a year? How long is that going to last you? --Chroniclev 07:54, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah this little Walk of Game thing is hardly important enough to have a stub or article on Wiki. If nothing happens soon with regards to the WoG itself then I will be calling for deletion of this article. Fatrb38 (talk) 10:50, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not important enough? --Kurtle (talk) 23:29, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A Lara Croft star was apparently added in 2008.[1] --John Nagle (talk) 06:00, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gone?

[edit]

Target is taking over most of the Metreon, which had become a mostly-dead mall, and the area with the Walk of Game is now boarded up. Don't know what will happen to the plaques. --John Nagle (talk) 18:20, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Notability has been questioned. The Walk of Game is gone, along with the interior of the Metreon building, now replaced by Target Store #2766. It did get substantial press coverage in its day, though.[2] It's probably worth keeping as historical. --John Nagle (talk) 21:34, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Added a ref to the original award ceremony, and noted that it was removed when a Target store replaced most of the interior of the Metreon. John Nagle (talk) 17:38, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
