Merging several articles

[edit]

This idea was suggested to me several months ago, so now I'm finally going ahead with it. Several of these holidays previously had their own articles (some of which were only a few sentences long, with no refs) despite clearly not meeting the criteria of WP:NOTABILITY. Since all of these articles relate to the same topic, I think merging and redirecting into a single article is a better solution than nominating them all for deletion.

There are a few articles for which I've done this where I'm not completely sure whether or not they're notable enough to have their own articles, although I've tried to make the best decision about this that I could. If anyone thinks one or more of these should be re-created as a separate article, feel free to suggest this here, and we can discuss it. --Captain Occam (talk) 19:31, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
