Major re-write but lacking references

[edit]

I re-wrote most of the article earlier. I am well aware that most of the article lacks references, so feel free to slam it with citing/fact tags. The problem is that the Internet itself lacks information related to the Performa, which is a common thing among Apple failures like the Apple III, Lisa, etc. Documenting failures does not draw much enthusiasm among Apple fans, so that is why you just don't see people on-line talking about it. Fortunately, I worked a professional throughout the history of the Performa, and had personal insight into the marketing of this product line. I worked on all levels of the issue - hired by Apple to help Sears sell the Performa, was VP of my Macintosh user group, and read/watched the hundreds of videos and brochures produced by Apple to help sell the Performa. But unfortunately, Wikipedia does not allow me to be a first-person source. Despite that, I re-wrote the article anyway knowing this. Hopefully it serves as an outline to push this article forward, and encourage other contributors to seek on-line references for much of it. Groink (talk) 02:40, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
