Fair use rationale for Image:Beonex.png

[edit]

Image:Beonex.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:54, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Here a small list of references I don't know how to integrate.

mabdul 20:30, 31 January 2011 (UTC) mabdul 00:46, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Does not appear to be WP:RS -- therefore should not be integrated at all. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 11:08, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ups, I corrected the link above. wrong copy 'n paste link o.O mabdul 11:20, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It barely mentions Beonex -- and please don't {{talkback}} me for something this minor (or at all for that matter -- see my user talk page header). HrafnTalkStalk(P) 11:32, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(Striking comments -- Mabdul keeps changing the links above my comments & I really can't be bothered anymore. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 04:25, 1 February 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Notability

[edit]

[Moved from User talk:Hrafn ]

Hi, a few days ago you added to the Beonex Communicator article the notability-tag and primarysources-tag. Since then I expanded the article and added many new references. Would you reevaluate the article and remove the tag(s) if you thing that they aren't necessary any more? I know the article isn't finished, it needs a cleanup/copyedit and I'm still waiting for another article that I requested at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Resource_Exchange/Resource_Request#Beonex_Communicator_article, but I don't think that the article should have any tags any more. mabdul 13:38, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article still contains excessive citation of Beonex's own website (in violation of WP:SELFPUB). It is unclear how substantive the new additions are in their coverage of the topic -- particularly as most are non-English, are used to support fragmentary claims, and are ludicrously refspammed (with multiple references provided for the most trivial facts). It is therefore not clear that the topic's notability has been established. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 06:03, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
On closer examination, the new sources appear to be frequently (i) primary sources (ii) sources of questionable reliability (bulletin boards and the like), whose reliability is particularly difficult to assess given that they're generally non-English and/or (iii) give Beonex Communicator only bare/brief mention. I am restoring the notability tag. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 06:17, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I would further point out that much of the third-party sourcing falls under WP:NOTNEWS: "routine news reporting on things like announcements, sports, or celebrities is not a sufficient basis for inclusion in the encyclopedia." This recent addition (the routine reporting of the announcement of a new version) is a classic example of this genre. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 07:38, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've started a thread at Wikipedia:Notability/Noticeboard#Beonex_Communicator to further address your concerns. Smallman12q (talk) 22:31, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:TAGTEAM

[edit]

I would like to note that given this comment, this edit (which states no reason for removal of the template, and is made by an editor who made no attempt to address concerns raised in #Notability above, nor who has ever previously edited the article or this talkpage) amounts to blatant WP:TAGTEAMing. I have edited a number of other browser articles, and I did edit this article 4 times...Smallman12q (talk) 22:33, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
