Drawbacks?

[edit]

I vaguely recall criticism of the Silentype. I don't remember the exact complaints. Expensive paper? Fading print? Blurry print? Printer reliability? Slow speed? I'm not sure but if thermal printers are so good why would you want to replace them with a primitive dot matrix? More information would be helpful for the article. Also, what Apple machines it's compatible with and not compatible with would be helpful to see.
