Alvaro Joshua Lamas (born December 19, 1983) is an American actor.

Career

Lamas is best known for his role as Rafael Ortega on As the World Turns,[1] Simon McCrae on Gigantic, and as Cisco Gonzalez on American Family. He also appeared with his family on the E! reality show Leave It to Lamas.

In 2001, Lamas was awarded Model of the Year and Young Adult Actor of the Year from the International Model & Talent Association.[2] In 2003, he was Mr. Golden Globe alongside Dominik Garcia-Lorido, daughter of Andy García, at the 60th Golden Globe Awards.[3]

Personal life

He is the son of actor Lorenzo Lamas and brother to model and actress Shayne Lamas, and grandson to Fernando Lamas and Arlene Dahl.[1]

 In 2017 Lamas, how had battled with drug and alcohol addiction earlier on on his career, stepped away from the limelight of hollywood, developing   his skills as a writher and director, preparing himself for a possible career shift to the other side of the lense. 

Lamas now (40) and 6 years sober has gone on to become an advocate of sobriety and a card carrying member of “the sober army”. Hollywoods elite club, Joining the ranks alongside actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey Jr., Mel Gibson, Bradley Cooper, and Brad Pitt, to name a few.

In 2020 Lamas co-founded NEWSWARDEN MEDIA GROUP. The parent company of (NEWSWARDEN.com) a popular online news platform focusing on the political landscape of America, featuring breaking news stories from around the world 24/7. In 2021 Lamas, working as a staff writer  amongst a team of journalist, was named Editor-in-cheif  NEWSWARDEN.comA position he still holds to this day.
