How to link a NNID to a Nintendo Account using Nintendo Switch
- Select your user icon on the Nintendo Switch Home Menu.
- Highlight Friend Suggestions, and then use the L/R Buttons to highlight the picture of the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS systems. Select Next.

Wii U or Nintendo 3DS pictures do not appear
The Nintendo Switch system will need to have a menu version of 3.0 or higher for the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS images to appear.

"Next" option does not appear
If the Next option does not appear when you highlight one of the system pictures, you have already linked your NNID to this Nintendo Account.

Wii U or Nintendo 3DS pictures do not appear
- Enter your Nintendo Account password if prompted, then select OK.
- Read the information about linking a Nintendo Network ID, then select Next.
- Enter your Nintendo Network ID and password, then Sign In to complete the link.

Forgot NNID or NNID password
If you cannot remember your NNID or password, use the Forgot your ID? or Forgot your password? links on the screen to request an email with the information.

Message: "Another account has already been linked."
This means that the NNID you are trying to link has already been linked to a different Nintendo Account. You will need to unlink the NNID from the other Nintendo Account before you can link it to this one.

The NNID cannot be linked because the date of birth or country doesn't match
The NNID date of birth and country settings must match the date of birth and country of your Nintendo Account. If they do not match, you will not be able to link the accounts together.

How to link a NNID to a Nintendo Account online
- Go to the Nintendo Account website and sign in to your Nintendo Account.
- Select User information, then Linked apps and services to view the accounts that are currently linked to your Nintendo Account.
- In the "Linked accounts" section, select Edit.
- Select the checkmark next to Nintendo Network ID.
- Follow the onscreen steps to enter your NNID and password.

How to unlink a NNID from a Nintendo Account
- Go to the Nintendo Account website and sign in to the Nintendo Account that is linked to the NNID you want to unlink.
- Select User information, then scroll down to the "Linked apps and services" section to view the accounts that are currently linked to your Nintendo Account.
- Select Edit in the "Linked apps and services" section.
- Select the checkmark next to Nintendo Network ID to remove the link.

Nintendo Account Mii disappeared
When the NNID link is removed, your Mii will no longer be displayed. If you would like to add a new Mii, read How to Change a Nintendo Account Mii.

Unable to unlink the NNID
If you created your Nintendo Account with your NNID, you will need to link an additional service (a different NNID, Google, or Apple ID) or create a Nintendo Account password before you can remove the link.
