There are a few of the typical new software bugs still hanging around and there are trolls out there in multiplayer that can ruin a game since there are no in game tools to get rid of them, but aside from that - worth every penny!

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />While I enjoyed the aesthetic of Darwinia, I never really "got it." Defcon, however, is fairly easy to get, is absolutely, chillingly gorgeous. While I played the demo, I kept getting this chilling feeling, like enjoying this was somehow wrong, and that this is an inappropriate topic for a game. On the other hand, that very chilling feeling is probably what the authors were after. It's really well rendered -- invokes the feeling of the game "Wargames" probably in a way even better than rewatching the movie would do. It's strategically deep and approachable. Only one nit: my macbook's fan spins up shortly after launching Defcon, and doesn't quit until the game is over. Seems that they have an over-eager busy loop somewhere. Nicely done! I'll buy this one now.
