Get to know the people behind Axcel 🌟 Meet Associate Director Sebastian Aarosin who is part of our Investment team in Copenhagen. Sebastian joined Axcel in May 2019 after spending five years in investment banking. He holds a M.Sc. in Finance and Accounting from Copenhagen Business School. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺? My desire to continue to learn and expand my toolbox, combined with the opportunity to work closely with the management teams in our portfolio companies. I wanted not only to identify strategic initiatives during a transaction process, but also to help execute these initiatives during the ownership period. In investment banking, you also work closely with management teams, but as soon as a transaction materialises, you move on to the next project. In private equity, this is where the real work begins! I enjoy working with the management teams and seeing our companies grow and develop. PE brings together so many aspects of active investing into one role, and after five years at Axcel, I’ve certainly not been disappointed by the learning curve. 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭’𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩? I work with four of our portfolio companies: Phase One, Capture One, GUBI and Init. I've worked on various projects for each of these companies. For instance, at Init, I’ve assisted in completing 15 add-on acquisitions while supporting the management team in building an integrated business across the Nordics. In addition to my work with the portfolio companies, I was part of the deal teams when Axcel acquired NTI Group and the tic-elkas/Eegholm group. 𝘛𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦? There are no typical days at Axcel! My days usually strike a good mix between meeting the management teams of our portfolio companies, meeting advisors to discuss new opportunities, working independently on different assignments, or coordinating workstreams across the teams I'm part of. We also spend time discussing ideas or new opportunities among the Investment team. My days are typically busy and active with a lot of people interactions, which leaves little crunch time in front of my computer, just the way I like to spend my office hours. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭? I really enjoy the culture and the team spirit in the office. It’s no secret that a job in private equity entails long working hours, which is why it’s super important to have great colleagues. We have a lot of people in the office typically, and that creates a busy and vibrant atmosphere, which is key for me personally. In addition to the many hours spent working together, we do a lot of social activities which is a big plus for me. #axcel #privateequity #team

We are pleased to announce that Axcel has signed an agreement to sell Nissens to Standard Motor Products. Nissens Automotive is a leading European provider of thermal management and engine efficiency products to the independent automotive aftermarket, and the Denmark-based company, established in 1921 by the Nissen family, now becomes part of Standard Motor Products (“SMP”). Headquartered in Long Island City, NY, SMP is a publicly listed, leading global manufacturer and distributor of premium automotive parts with over 6,000 employees across 32 manufacturing, distribution, engineering and office facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. In 2017, Axcel joined forces with the Nissen family, and following a strategic split of the company into two standalone businesses, Nissens Cooling Solutions, a key supplier to the wind industry, was divested to A.P. Moller Holding in 2021. Get to know the people behind Axcel 🌟Meet Finance Manager Karoline Søholt who is part of our Finance team in Copenhagen. Karoline has a MSc in Business Administration and Auditing from Copenhagen Business School and started her career at Deloitte before joining Axcel’s Finance team in 2022. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺? I have always had a passion for numbers and after more than six years in audit, I felt it was time for a new challenge. I was drawn to the dynamic environment and the opportunities to continue to develop my professional and personal skills at Axcel. From the consultancy industry, I liked the variety in days and tasks, which applies to my work in the Finance team at Axcel as well. I'm constantly learning from my finance and investment colleagues, and my tasks range from day-to-day operations to servicing our investors as well as our portfolio companies. 𝘛𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦? I would say that I don’t have a typical day at the office, as I juggle a lot of tasks that vary across the yearly cycle. However, a workday for me may include preparation for quarterly reporting to our investors, capital calls or distributions, meetings with portfolio companies, or audit and financial statement preparation. Also, various “one time” tasks depending on what is going on at Axcel. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭? I like that no two days are the same. The very different nature of my tasks ensures that I continuously broaden my knowledge of private equity. I really like that we work together across functions and countries. We work as one team, as we are dependent on each other. For example, a closing of a new investment cannot be finalised without involving all functions. Furthermore, I also really appreciate the culture and size of Axcel. Full house! 🏠Leading Nordic provider of electrical panels, the tic elkas/Eegholm/Elcor group, welcomes Louise Koch and Peter Sørensen to its Board of Directors.
