My Apple Watch Series 7 did not give me a low heart rate notification

I had a low heart rate on July 1 for 10 minutes and there was only a notification about it. No, alarm was received and it was while I was sleeping. Why isn’t my Apple Watch vibrating or giving me an alarm for that notification? What is the point of having that if you’re not notified and awakened

Low heart rate does not provide an alarm feature. It provides a Notification. Low Heart Rate is meant to alert you to a health condition that you might want to discuss with your Primary Care Physician.

Apple has a support article that explains the features related to High and Low Heart Rates.

The features you’re desiring might require medical certification by the FDA and the watch is just designed to make you aware of >possible< health conditions.

This is a useless feature.. everyone complains about it.. what’s the point of seeing a notification hours later?? I am sure it could be easily modified with a system update. Your products alert you with alarms if you fall, if you crash but only give you a memo that your heart is not working correctly and something dangerous is occurring? It needs to vibrate and alarm! I will not purchase a new watch till this issue is addressed. Peoples lives could depend on it.

No, that’s an excuse.. information is very misleading because it tells you you’re gonna get a notification. It doesn’t tell you that it doesn’t alert you of anything. It’s a background notification.. poor programming development I would expect better from Apple

Then check other brands of smartwatches to see if they have better programming development.

Call it an excuse if you like. I prefer to think it’s informative and educational, if not for you, for other community members.

It’s how it works as a non FDA Approved Medical Device. Notifications can be made permanent on Lock Screen until dismissed.

If low/high heart rates is a life threatening medical condition for you, I get it. Apple Watch is not the product for you. I asked my wife (retired RN) about such devices and she was familiar with them. The device you need for home use is monitored to help insure your safety and cost around $50 a month.

If you do not have a life threatening condition, Apple Watch will provide Notifications of >possible< issues you should discuss with your physician and perhaps more extensive testing is in order. Your doctor can make appropriate recommendations for monitoring.
