Request refund for purchases made by a kid

Hello,

Two purchases have been made by a kid without my permission.

My request has been rejected automatically.

I kindly ask you to reconsider my case by a human and granting refund.

Best regards,

Mosawi

The people responding on this support forum are users like you and we only know what Apple says in its documentation and what our own and other users' experience tells us. Apple does not have much on its criteria for refusing refunds. Here are two sections from Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions - Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple

- "All Transactions are final."

I understand this as meaning Apple is starting from a point where any refund is considered an exception. They can simply say no without having to provide a reason. I understand this can be frustrating but by using the service you agree to the terms.

- "From time to time, Apple may suspend or cancel payment or refuse a refund request if we find evidence of fraud, abuse, or unlawful or other manipulative behavior that entitles Apple to a corresponding counterclaim."

You can see if the terms are different for where you live by clicking on this link Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple select your location and then your language.

If you feel you want to discuss a refund request, try to contact a live person using a telephone or chat request.

Click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

You authorized him to make the purchases by giving him the Password/Passcode to use your device and that includes for making purchases with it. Giving him the Password/Passcode to your device and not knowing what he is doing with it is not Apple's fault. Apple provides many methods to prevent those purchases from happening, but it is up to you to use them.

You must resolve the situation by resetting your Password and Passcode to prevent the child from using your device to make purchases. If the child made the purchases from their device, then they must be part of Family Sharing with the "Ask to Buy" option enabled to prevent any future purchases.

It is important to remember that if you give anyone your Password or Passcode, you are giving them authorization to make purchases to your account. There are many controls in place to prevent that from happening on a child's device, they just need to be turned on. That is why refunds are not guaranteed.

Below are several article that need reviewed to immediately change your Password and Passcode, as well as using Family Sharing and Parental Controls and the link to contact Apple Support.

What the other people informed you are 100% correct but even if you contact Apple Support there isn’t nothing the advisors can do either if it’s been denied twice. The advisors have no control over the refund if it’s been denied they can only submit the request for you and it also says it in the terms and conditions that all sales are final and they try to make an exception according to policy. I would recommend that you change your password and passcode as well and don’t let them use your device(s) and just take this situation as a lesson learned so the next time you will know what to do to prevent it from happening again.

I know this is old but when Apple denies you call your credit card or debit card customer service and they will grant the refund 99% of the time

I would not say 99% of the time. They will immediately credit your account, but will investigate your claim and once they realize the purchase was made on your phone using your authentication, then they are likely to charge it back to you. In addition, you would likely find that your account has been disabled in the App Store and that payment method will no longer be a valid payment method to use for purchases on your device.
