Description (last modified by sabernhardt)

JXL images offers much smaller file sizes than JPG and also support HDR (which JPG does not). There is no way currently to upload an JXL to the WordPress media library, the files are ignored without complex workarounds.

Adobe Camera RAW now natively supports export of JXL images.

See the 9:20 point of this video: https://gregbenzphotography.com/photography-tips/acr-15-adds-high-dynamic-range-output/

This is currently set as a "technology preview", so you'll need to enable HDRO on MacOS as shown in the first minute of the video to have access to JXL export if you want to test yourself.
