A new The World Bank and International Labour Organization paper shows that 26-38% of jobs in the region could be exposed to GenAI, with 8-14% becoming more productive and 2-5% at the risk of full automation. In short, GenAI is more likely to transform jobs, than to fully replace workers. However, digital infrastructure gaps and inequalities could hinder this transformative impact.
