Awesome and easy way to shop and save!!

I was very skeptical when I signed up a couple years ago but I am happy and a bit better off since I gave it a try! I get paid to shop for the things I was going to buy anyway! I find the store on ebates app, click on the coupon I want to use, and get sent to the merchants site to make my purchases. At the end of the shopping, I get an email from ebates telling me how much I made and it is transferred into my PayPal account. Easy peasy!!

Your Dumb not to do this

I have cashed out over $500 in under 2 years. You are giving away money if you do not use this free app. I was skeptical also at first- however- what do you have to lose????????

Superior customer service

I really love getting my big fat checks. I had to contact customer service to get help changing my cash back options. They were quick to reply everytime and were able to fix my issue! I highly recommend using Ebates!

Love Ebates!

Love to have money back, no matter the amount, it is fun to watch how the cash back grows and so happy when it is transferred to my account.

Don't even deserve a bad rating!! Is there nothing worse?

I ordered a watch for my daughters 16th birthday, received order confirmation and shipping so waited for delivery. Two days after her birthday I rang to check where the delivery was to be told it had not been processed as their was an issue with the payment card? No communication to me and I only found out by contacting them.

Subsequently I cancelled the order and then discovered they took payment anyway! Against a cancelled order with a problem against the payment method? Two weeks later, and after me chasing again, I have now finally received notification of the refund being processed. No apology, no compensation, nothing!

Absolute disgrace and I would not recommend, absolutely avoid.

Love Ebates!

It couldn't be any easier to get cash back for almost anything you order online, especially if you install the pop-up reminder that automatically appears on any participating company's website. Whenever I've contacted customer service about a question or issue, they answer promptly, and always made me a happy customer! Love the Big Fat Checks!!!

Basicly what yo expect....

You use they're cash back redirect link (referral link) then after around a month all your cash back disappear after which you contact the support and they send you the following thing:

Hello ........

Thank you for your reply. In reviewing your account, it appears that most of your orders from ......... have been reversed by the merchant. This generally happens when a coupon was used that was not offered on our ........ page, an order is returned, cancelled, or exchanged. If you can please provide me with the order confirmations for these orders I will be happy to look into this matter further for you.

For these orders, please send along the full order confirmation pages (that include an order number, products purchased, order date and price breakdown showing product total, shipping, tax and method of payment).

You have still received ...... from some of your orders and your ...... Sign Up Bonus. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Basically after this you say OK no problem and provide them with all of the above information and they keep sending this email.... basically they have all to none intention to uphold the cashback they advertise.

It certainly is not our intention to avoid getting Cash Back to our members. There are some cases where a transaction is missed and on those we are here to help. Terrible company

Never received the correct order, the vendor never responded to me and my order doesnt even appear in my Rakuten account!. Never using them again. Totally dissatisfied.

2 more things, and you just might get my 5 stars

Rakuten is almost perfect... good range of prices on website and ease of shopping. been using 'em since 2012 or so as a play.com customer.

Two main things they can seriously consider and improve on:
1. Provide Trailers to the movies on sale. Sometimes that's just all i need to make a decision on movie to buy. Trailers are useful on most other DVD/Blu Ray online shops that i use...even amazon provides the odd trailer sometimes.
2. I hope they would allow PayPal payments

Add these two, and you may get my 5 stars

Don't waste your time

I had 2 orders cancelled - it took them 4 days to cancel one of them. I would not bother to use this site again even thought they are cheap. There are much better / more reliable online shopping sites available.

Surprisingly, it always worked

I have by now earned $256 cash back from ebates, and received $245 of them (the rest will be sent to me in the next cycle). The Chrome browser extension is useful, as it will signal you when a website you are visiting qualified for cash back. For a few times the merchant did not promptly report to ebates about my purchase and I had to send in inquiries to ebates, which were quickly resolved as soon as they checked with the companies with my order details. There was once that I used a promotional code not via ebates and apparently it disqualified it from ebates rebate, but ebates gave it to me nonetheless after inquiring about it.

Very unhelpful

Placed an order, no acknowledgement, then they said the didn't have one item. Amended order. Still no acknowledgment. Emailed to cancel. Was asked after one hour for the order number. Supplied it. Heard nothing for 24 hours. Was told items had been dispatched therefore not possible to cancel. Told me I could return goods if I paid postage. Ridiculous, bordering on sharp practice imho. You stuff up twice, then offer to correct if I pay. I won't be returning goods, because pound to a penny you'll deny receipt. I learn quick, and I won't use you again.

They do not ship

I received a USPS tracking number within 24 hours of placing the order - the label was created by the seller but the order was never shipped. After 2 weeks I contacted rakuten and asked where my order was. They did not respond, so I notified my credit card company that the merchandise had never been sent to me. They credited my account. Once rakuten was notified of the credit, SIX WEEKS LATER, they sent the merchandise. Of course, by then I had purchased the items from another retailer and no longer needed it, but had no way to return it. Then my credit card company notified me that they had reinstated the charge because the retailer said I had not contacted them before requesting the credit (I had), and that they indeed had delivered the merchandise (yes, but only after the credit card company reversed my payment to them). Stay away from rakuten.com.

Thieves and Liars - BEWARE!!

Rakuten allows and encourages vendors to sell used broken merchandise claiming that it's new items. Beware and don't buy anything there, they are seriously fraudulent and dishonest and won't allow you to return the faulty merchandise.
