Media News | Google Reverses Decision on Third-Party Cookie Deprecation Google has announced that it will not be moving forward with its plans to deprecate third-party cookies. Initially proposed over four years ago, this shift marks a significant change in Google's strategy for online privacy and advertising. Google's decision comes amid an evolving digital ecosystem where new privacy-centric solutions have rapidly emerged. Despite the reversal, industry leaders emphasize that the progress made in developing alternatives to third-party cookies remains crucial. Christy MacLeod, Chief Data and Solutions Officer at Kinesso, states that the cookieless conversation has spurred innovation in areas such as conversion APIs, server-side tagging, unified IDs, first-party data utilization, clean rooms, and enhanced AI platform performance solutions. “This dynamic environment has allowed us to mature our clients at a significant rate and ‘now-proof’ their business as much as we have been future-proofing,” MacLeod says. “Whether Google intended to or not, they’ve started a conversation that breaks open the ecosystem and offers companies a chance to offer alternatives. Suddenly, marketers and agencies have a plethora of choices when it comes to how they want to speak to their consumers or measure their media.” Read more below. https://lnkd.in/dRjs6_yT

Responsible Media | Let's unite the media industry to build an internet that's not just positive, but safe and inclusive for all. #medialeaders

Making the internet better and safer for all is a top priority. At our recent leadership summit, Kristie Painting of Pinterest and Laura Douglas of Dove, Unilever, underscored the importance of leaders driving positive change online. By 2025, 90% of online content will be AI-generated. That's why, two decades after launching Campaign for Real Beauty, Dove is taking a bold stance: committing to never use AI to represent real women in its ads. The key takeaway from the fireside chat was a resounding call to action. As industry leaders, it's incumbent upon us to create a positive and inclusive internet, not just for ourselves, but for future generations. It's time to unite and promote #InternetPositivity. Let's build more inclusive and diverse online communities where everyone feels represented and valued. #DigitalResponsibility #MediaLeaders
