Our mission

OUP advances the University of Oxford’s objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education through our global journals program. As a mission-driven, not-for-profit university press, our publishing strategy is guided not by shareholder expectations but by the priorities and needs of the communities we support. Any operating surplus serves educational and scholarly objectives, through reinvestment in publishing and educational programs and as financial returns to publishing partners.

Our values

As a part of the scholarly community, we share the values of our society partners. We conduct our business to exacting ethical standards, treating all parties involved in the publishing process with dignity and respect, and managing all transactions and engagements with a sense of fair play. Transparency and open conversation are critical components of all of our partnerships.
