WYFF 4, an NBC affiliate and Hearst Television Station, located in Greenville, South Carolina, offers paid internships to qualified college junior, senior, and graduate students.Internships are offered during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Time frames for these internships are based on the parameters of the individual universities.WYFF 4 offers hands-on internships in the following areas: News department (includes sport and weather), Sales, Creative Services, and News Production/Engineering. News: Interns accompany a variety of positions in the newsroom from reporters, photographers, producers, sportscasters, assignment editors, etc, to get a well-rounded overview of everyday life in a working newsroom. They will also sharpen their writing and reporting skills to help get them ready for a career in journalism.Sales:Interns would learn the basics of sales and sales marketing in the broadcast industry. They may accompany a manager or account executive to a client meeting and learn the process of getting a client spot on air or on one of our digital platforms.Creative Services:In this department, interns would learn a wide variety of skills in the marketing and promotion field, including creative writing, video and still photography, and video editing. They will have an opportunity to work hands on with programs in the Adobe Suite, completing a project for air on WYFF 4 by the end of the internship.News Production/Engineering:Under supervision, students with the appropriate academic background can learn the use of and operate equipment. They will assist in running camera and teleprompter, gain an understanding of directing, master control, live shot set-up, audio, and participate in off air production.How to apply:Students may apply for internships by sending a resume and cover letter to WYFF 4.
