Paul Dudley

Anchor

Paul Dudley anchors KSBW Action News 8 Sunrise with Meteorologist Gina DeVecchio and Traffic Reporter Jaclyn Dunn Monday through Friday from 5 a.m.-7 a.m. Dudley also reports throughout the week.

With experience in television, radio and print media, Dudley knows what it takes to tell a story. From his early roots in radio to his most recent position as morning anchor with KSBW Action News 8, telling a compelling story has always been the goal.

Dudley came to the central coast after a nearly four-year stint in New Orleans, where he worked as the weekend morning anchor and three-day-a-week reporter. While in New Orleans, Dudley covered a number of memorable stories including an investigation into corruption at one of the largest police departments in Louisiana, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the devastation of Hurricane Ida, a category 4 storm where Dudley worked and slept at the station before power was restored at his own home.

Dudley is also an award-winning sports reporter, too. Along with a colleague, he was awarded “the best sports feature award,” for a story where he interview Saints fans about their emotions after the “no call,” when officials missed a blatant pass interference penalty against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game that likely would have sent New Orleans to the Super Bowl.

This isn’t Dudley’s first time working on the central coast. From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor for another local television station. Dudley covered many major local stories including the destruction and construction of the Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge, growing trends of the legal prescription of Opioids and dozens of stories related to the 2016 Soberanes Fire.

Dudley has also worked in Boston at WHDH-TV, The Boston Globe and KOLA-FM and KCAL-FM in the greater Los Angeles area.

Dudley is a native of San Diego and a graduate of California State University-San Bernardino where he received his Bachelor's in mass communications before receiving his Master’s in journalism from Boston University. A self-proclaimed “California guy,” Dudley enjoys hiking and surfing and ”everything the gorgeous Central Coast has to offer.”
