Watch the video below for full gameplay of the Final Boss for helpful tips!
How to Unlock the Wind Fish's Egg
You need to complete the trading sequence in order to get the directions for navigating the Windfish Egg. See the Link's Awakening Trading Sequence Guide for complete instructions on how to finish it. Doing so will allow you to read the Wind Fish Maze instructions totally unique to your game (for the Switch version).
You'll also want to upgrade your sword by getting at least 20 (40 for the Switch Version) seashells and upgrading the amount of magic powder and the amount of arrows you can carry.
When you are all finished, head up to the mountain and get to the egg. Play Marin's song to open the egg. Once you head inside, use the directions from the library book Dark Secrets and Mysteries of Koholint. Jump down the hole and prepare for the final bosses.
Giant Blot
He bounces around, but is incredibly weak. Get in close when he's about to hit the ground and just sprinkle magic powder on him to cause damage. Do this three times and he's down.
Aghanim
Equip your jump. This form throws balls of magic that you have to hit back once he launches them. He also throws circular ball cluster with projectiles that scatter as they get close and can't be returned -- so jump if you see them coming. Keep your distance so you have enough time to decide whether to strike or jump. Hitting him four times defeats this form.
Moldorm
Just like the first boss in the game that this form is based on, his weakness is his tail, so keep attacking it with your sword.
Ganon:
This boss form got an upgrade for the Switch version. Ganon still summons a number of Fire Keese (bats) that come flying at you, but he is also constantly spinning his staff to prevent damage. Run around the perimeter and jump to avoid the incoming bats. Wait for Ganon to finish summoning them and he'll throw his staff at you. The moment to attack is when the staff is out of his hands. The easiest way to cause damage is to get in close to his side and charge up a spin attack and strike. If you have problems striking him or the staff is spinning too close to him, Ganon also has a brief moment of vulnerability the moment the staff returns to his hand so either strike him or charge at him with the Pegasus Boots when that happens.
In the original Link's Awakening, this form is much easier to defeat. Ganon summons flaming bats but doesn't defend himself with a staff, so use a combo of the Pegasus boots and the sword and keep charging at him until he's gone.
Lanmola:
Originally, one shot from the Magic Rod would be enough. In the Switch version, rely on using the boomerang or the Hook Shot and hit him a few times to kill him.
Dethl:
The main boss waves his arms around to do damage and his only weakness is his eye that's open for very short periods. You can shoot his eye with arrows or the boomerang to kill him (16 shots is enough). Once you've beaten him, all you have to do is go up the stairs and you're done.
