Four Swords Guide
The first multi-player game in the series, Four Swords was an innovation in Zelda History. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords was originally released in 2003 for the gameboy advance as an aditional game mode alongside The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The age of the Game Boy Advance required a wired connection to play this game. During the 25th Anniversary celebration in 2011, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords (Anniversary Edition) was released for free on the Nintendo 3ds and featured a wireless connection and a single player option where the other link companions were contolled by a CPU. This offer was available between September 28, 2011 and February 20, 2012. The remake featured new stages and themes from past Zelda games such as: A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and the original Legend of Zelda.
