Missile Tanks Locations
Missile Tank is a type of collectible in Metroid Dread. It increases your total missile capacity. A regular Missile Tank grants you two missiles, while a Missile+ Tank gives you 10.
Inside this IGN guide, you will find the location of all the Missile Tanks in the game.
Missile Tanks in Artaria
Artaria Missile Tank #1
After your first save point, you'll enter a vertical hall to the northeast while you get the tutorial on how countering and combat works. This Missile Tank is part of the tutorial — the game will tell you about flashing rooms on your map hiding secrets. Shoot the block in the upper right corner to detonate an explosive and clear the way to this tank and the door above to the right.
Artaria Missile Tank #2
While escaping from the non-damaged E.M.M.I. (the second one you will face), you'll pass through a door this enemy cannot open and end up in a large cave with waterfalls. Climb the eastern side of the area and the Missile Tank is sitting right by the upper right door. (A door that locks itself when passing nearby).
Artaria Missile Tank #3
This Missile Tank is visible behind a waterfall in the room west of the Save Station in northwestern Artaria. You cannot obtain it until you drain the lower area of water and use the Map Station. Then you can approach the Missile Tank from the door to the east of it. You need to defeat a big enemy before it.
Artaria Missile Tank #4
On the upper northeast side of Artaria, you can use the Charge Beam to open the upper right door in a Network Station. This will lead you through a long glass tube over lava. Keep going in that direction until you find a new door. Just beyond this Charge Beam Door is a room with secret blocks to shoot in the false ceiling. There will be a Missile Tank in the middle of the lower part of the room, in a hole that you can slide through.
Artaria Missile Tank #5
In the northwestern area of Artaria, there's a room in which you'll first redirect the flow of the thermal power. Just to the right of the pedestal is a wall you can blast with a Missile to reveal a Missile Tank on the other side of a sealed door. Since you can't open the door from the other side, you can shoot the door through the hole to open it up. Then you can return to the room on the right to reach the Missile Tank.
Artaria Missile Tank #6
In the central area of Artaria, there is a region in which you'll eliminate the second E.M.M.I. with your Omega Cannon, just after the boss battle with the brain boss. Here you'll find a tall room with blue magnet panels (also visible on the map) on both sides of the room. Climb the left side of this tall room, then shoot the wall on the right (it will break). The Missile Tank will be there.
Artaria Missile Tank #7
After acquiring the Varia Suit, enter the heat zone on the right. Destroy two enemies and make your way down by shooting the floor on the right. Then, you will notice a small passage for you to use your Morph Ball mode. However, be quick because the lava will hurt you.
Artaria Missile Tank #8
This Missile Tank is on the upper left side of the Network Station with four doors —three power beam doors and a thermal one. However, to reach this one you need to come from the other way around, from the top floor of the E.M.M.I. area. You can easily get here by using the Yellow Teleportal from Dairon or descending from the Save Station in the north.
From the E.M.M.I. area, go to the right and use the ramp. Jump to reach the upper platform and go left. Inside the new room, the tank will be on the top left side. Use your Morph Ball mode.
Artaria Missile Tank #9
Go to the elevator that you used to reach Cataris for the first time. Open the door on the left and enter the heat zone. Keep going in that direction and climb the wall on the right. You will notice a blue panel above you. Jump to it and it will lead you to the Missile Tank.
Artaria Missile Tank #10
There is a heated area above the Save Station on the east side of Artaria. Exit the station to the right, climb the platforms, and open the door on the left. You will be inside a room with a magnetic roof at the top and a pool of lava below. Climb it and go to the left, watching the fire traps and the flying enemies. The Missile Tank is on the end of the room.
Artaria Missile Tank #11
Below the Corpius boss area (east side of Artaria), there is a floor on which you will fight a Central Unit (the one that gives you the Omega Cannon). While making your way to the left from this room, you will find a way to reach the top side of a sliding platform.
Right next to the door, you need to jump and use Flash Shift in mid-air to reach the small passage on the top right side of the screen. Put a Bomb in your Morph Ball mode and you will find the Missile Tank.
Artaria Missile Tank #12
Reach the Save Station on southeastern Artaria. From here, go to the left, descend to a room with a small pool of water, and open the door on the right. Go to the lower floor and use a Bomb in the small passage on the right. The Missile Tank will be above you.
Artaria Missile Tank #13
On the lower side of Artaria, you will find a room with an Energy Recharge Station. You have already been here on your first moments of the game, but you couldn’t reach the Missile Tank next to a pool of water. You only need to use the Spider Magnet on the blue panel on the left wall.
Artaria Missile Tank #14
At the center of Artaria, there is a room that will have a Missile Tank blocked by a Grapple Bleam Platform. It's probably that you activated this platform before by passing over it during your first time in Artaria.
Simply return the platform to its original position by using the Grapple Beam. Beware of the ramp in the middle — use Flash Shift to avoid falling.
Artaria Missile Tank #15
Below the Red Teleportal, on the northwestern Artaria, there’s a room full of water and some enemies. Also, there’s a black block hiding a Tank Missile. To reveal it, you need to shoot a missile to the block. Then, you will be able to pick the collectible up in your Morph Ball mode.
Artaria Missile Tank #16
Once you find the Gravity Suit in Burenia, you will return to Artaria by using an elevator. Exit the elevator's room and go to the right. When you see the platform that moves, use Space Jump (press B a couple of times) and don’t touch it. You need to land on the other blocks. The tank will be on the right.
Artaria Missile Tank #17
After beating the red Chozo Soldier in the southwestern region of Artaria, open the door on the left. Inside this room, defeat the flying enemies and climb your way up by using Space Jump. The Missile Tank will be on the top platform.
Artaria Missile Tank #18
For this one, start from the Save Station that is to the left of the Red Teleportal. From here, take the left and follow the path above you.
There will be two doors at the top of the region. You need to enter the one below, using your Super Missile to break the green cover. Then use Charge Beam to open the door and you will see the Missile Tank above you. Use Bombs to break the pink blocks.
Artaria Missile Tank #19
The easiest way to reach the room is coming from north Artaria, where the elevator that leads to Dairon is. You need to go to the E.M.M.I. Zone Room some floors below the north Save Station. This is right next to the room in which you fall by Pitfall Blocks.
Inside the room, and near the E.M.M.I. Zone Door, shoot the floor. You will unlock a secret passage.
Artaria Missile Tank #20
At the center of Artaria, there is a huge room with blue panels on the right that leads you to a hallway. (You can also see an orange collectible called Power Bomb from here). You need to enter the hallway by climbing the blue panel.
Inside this room, defeat the enemies and use Speed Boost going to the right. Before touching the wall, activate Shinespark. Shoot the wall and you will see a small space. Now you need to enter there in your ball mode. Release the Shinespark to the left and you will arrive in a new room, with the tank above you.
Artaria Missile Tank #21
Go to where you fought the Chozo Soldier, in southwestern Artaria. In that low-temperature room, start from the left door and activate Speed Boost. Then, activate Shinespark as soon as you can. Don’t release it until you are on the platform on the right, near a wall.
You will unlock a long way, but it's not enough. The process must be repeated one more time, but now reaching the new wall on the right and releasing Shine Spark on Morph Ball mode. All of this is for a Missile+ Tank.
Artaria Missile Tank #22
From the hallway in the previous collectible location, activate Speed Boost and go to the left. You will open a new room with enemies. From this room, activate it to the right and you will start descending, destroying the first pillar in the way. However, shoot missiles for the second one.
Activate Shinespark as you are reaching the wall before the door and release it to the right in Morph Ball mode. You will unlock a secret passage. Keep going in that direction and use a Bomb to reach the tank.
Artaria Missile Tank #23
Go to the room with the elevator that leads to Burenia. Here, take the left. There will be some pillars of blocks that you can destroy with your new ability, Screw Attack. However, beware of insects coming out of nests between the pillars. The tank will be on the left.
Artaria Missile Tank #24
From the elevator to Burenia, on the west Artaria, take the right. Next, descend to the left, until you reach the lower pool of water — this is some floors behind the Total Recharge Station. You will notice a mark on a wall. Shoot it using your new beam, which goes through surfaces. The Missile Tank will be above you.
Missile Tanks in Cataris
Cataris Missile Tank #1
After defeating the green E.M.M.I., start from where the Central Unit boss (the one that gives you the Omega Cannon) was and go to the right. Descend and defeat the flying creatures around. If you keep going down, you will find a small passage on the left. Jump over it and you will be automatically transformed in your ball form. Keep going left and the Missile Tank will be there, right next to a door.
Cataris Missile Tank #2
After getting the previous tank, go all the way to the left. You will find a route that will require you to use your Morph Ball ability. Go all the way down and you will be in a room with a statue of a creature. Jump to its mouth and go to the left while in ball mode.
There will be a yellow door before a heat zone. Instead of going there, break the walls above. A secret passage will be there. Use your ball mode to the left and then follow the creature's path above. The tank will be on the right, right next to a Save Station, on the west side of Cataris.
Cataris Missile Tank #3
After fighting Kraid and acquiring the Diffusion Beam, you will find the Purple Teleportal. Before using it, climb the upper left platform. Beware of some enemies around the room. Climb the wall on the left and then jump to the blue panel on the right. Charge your attack and hit the left wall, where the mark is. You will unlock a passage for your Morph Ball.
Cataris Missile Tank #4
On the heated area in the southwestern Cataris, there’s a lava section that you can pass through with your Morph Ball mode. This area is above the room in which you fought Kraid.
The Missile Tank is covered with a block, on the end of the path. You need to quickly go to the end of the passage, use a Bomb, and reveal it.
Cataris Missile Tank #5
From the Purple Teleportal, go to the room on the right. Here, climb until you find a door that leads to a high-temperature zone. Inside this room, you will find some marks in the blocks on the upper left side of the room. Break them and follow the path in your Morph Ball mode.
Cataris Missile Tank #6
From Cataris’ eastern Save Station, go to the left until you find a room that is divided with blue panels in the middle. On the right side, there is a passage for your Morph Ball mode. Enter the secret room, destroy a big machine walking around, and use your Spider Magnet on the blue panel. Go to the left and throw a missile when you reach the end of the path.
Cataris Missile Tank #7
Below the room with the interactive device that changes the lava level of the area (in eastern Cataris), you will find some doors that require a Charge Shot. Open them, go to the right and defeat a rock creature. The tank will be on the upper right side of the room, with a breakable block.
Cataris Missile Tank #8
On the northeastern side of Cataris, there’s a heated room. Access it from the place in which you use the interactive device that controls lava. There will be a small passage on the right. Make all your way up and to the left.
You will be inside a room with two rock creatures. You need to move the Wide Beam Box with your Wide Beam and use your Bomb ability near it to break a block to access the lower floor. The Missile Tank will be on the left.
Cataris Missile Tank #9
From the Network Station on the northwest side of Cataris, go to the right and then below, where the rock creature is. Defeat it and take the small passage on the left, using your Morph Ball mode. You will see the tank at the upper left platform. Use Flash Shift while jumping from the right to reach the blocks below it.
Cataris Missile Tank #10
After using the elevator from Artaria, take the left and descend to the lower floor. You will find a marked wall on the left. You need to charge your shot and destroy it. The Missile Tank will be on the other side. Use your Morph Ball mode to get it.
Cataris Missile Tank #11
Above the south Network Station, there is a high-temperature room with a pool of lava. To reach there, you need to exit the station by the left, use the Morph Ball Launcher to the next room, and make your way up. You will find a door on the right. Enter it and you will be inside the heated room. Go to the right wall and climb to where the tank is. Just wall jump to get it.
Cataris Missile Tank #12
Go to the room with the Orange Teleportal, the one in a high-temperature region. Then, advance to the right and descend to the lava floor. Go until you almost touch the left wall. Shoot the blocks on the right and activate Speed Booster as soon as you can, running where the blocks were.
Now you can either slide and continue your way or activate Shinespark right before touching the wall on the right. Then use Morph Ball mode, pass under the wall and release the Shinespark aiming right.
Cataris Missile Tank #13
There are a couple of ways for achieving this one, but this might be the easiest one. First of all, start from the Shuttle room that leads to Dairon. Open the door near it, and clean the room.
Then, return to the Shuttle and near the door activate Speed Booster. While running, slide down the wall on the right and jump quickly to avoid the space. As soon as you keep moving with no interruptions, Speed Booster will remain activated.
When you reach the platform on the right, activate Shinespark. Jump with a direction while in this mode and you won't release it. Quickly jump to the platform, then to the right, go left. You will release your power in the middle, aiming up.
Cataris Missile Tank #14
This one is on the east side of the area, inside a high-temperature room. To reach here, start from the interactive device room and go all the way to the right. Then, you will start going up, using your Space Jump ability.
Reach the top and use a Bomb on the right corner. You will unlock a path that leads to the tank.
Cataris Missile Tank #15
Go to the southeastern Cataris. There is a big room with flying enemies, robots, and blue panels on the left side. The location you want is above the Experiment No. Z-57 boss room.
Simply go to the Closed Thermal Trapdoor, on the left, and use Screw Attack in that direction. You will break some blocks and the tank will be on the upper left corner.
Missile Tanks in Dairon
Dairon Missile Tank #1
After acquiring the Bomb ability, use it on the left side of the room. You will unlock a secret path below. Continue your way in your Morph Ball mode and use Bomb on the wall near the Missile Tank. A passage will be opened.
Dairon Missile Tank #2
This Missile Tank is near the west Save Station in Dairon, in a short hallway with a blue panel on the left wall and a blue moving panel on the right side of the room. There’s also a mine in the middle.
For this one, you have to break the blocks on the right with your Speed Booster ability. The tank will be on the end of the hallway.
Dairon Missile Tank #3
On the east side of Dairon, inside the room between the transport to Cataris and a Save Station, you will need to use your Shinespark ability on the lower floor. Activate it on the platform right next to the Energy Recharge Station. The Missile Tank will be on the left.
Dairon Missile Tank #4
Go to the room next to the west Save Station in the area. Instead of using the Morph Ball Launcher below to continue your way, put Bombs on the platform in between the launchers. You will unlock a secret passage to a tank.
Dairon Missile Tank #5
You can actually get this early, before acquiring the Grapple Beam upgrade. From the previous tank location, use the Morph Ball Launcher below. In the new room, shoot the roof and you will reveal a path to the Missile Tank. You can jump and get it by using Morph Ball mode.
Dairon Missile Tank #6
Start from the bottom of Dairon, in the E.M.M.I. Zone, and climb up until you find a room with some enemies and an Ammo Recharge Station on the right. Here you will need to run and do some "acrobatics" while using Speed Booster. It's recommended to clean the location before trying this.
First of all, you need to start outside the room, some steps before the E.M.M.I. Zone Door. While facing to the right, start running and activate Speed Booster. Jump the first platform and perform a wall jump to reach the second one, on the left. Then slide when you need and perform a series of wall jumps to reach where the Missile+Tank is.
You actually can make this challenge a bit "easier" by doing fewer wall jumps and activate Shinespark. Then you would need to jump to the right wall and release it to the left, where the collectible is. However, remember that you have a few seconds before Shinespark goes off.
Dairon Missile Tank #7
From the Purple Teleporter, make your way to the right and reach the room with a Total Recharge Station. Then take the right door and make your way up in this big room. When on the top floor, go to the left where the E.M.M.I. Zone Door is.
Look up and spot a blue glowing panel. You can use it to balance yourself with your Grapple Beam and advance to the right. Use Flash Shift to help you reach the tank.
Dairon Missile Tank #8
You can find this one when using the elevator from Ghavoran. Exit the room to the right and you will see a door — there's an Energy Recharge Station above you, for reference. Pass through it and you will see the tank right away.
Dairon Missile Tank #9
Start from the south Network Station in the area. You need to descend until you find the lava room in which there was an Energy Part — it's on the left of the chamber with the elevator to Artaria. On the right side of that area, you need to shoot the floor or put a Bomb. A new path will be unlocked. Destroy the marked wall and enter a new room.
Jump into the lava on the lower floor and use Speed Boost to the right. You will break a series of blocks and the tank location will be revealed.
Dairon Missile Tank #10
From the previous Missile Tank, climb to the upper right side of the screen and then jump to the left. You will have to use your Grapple Beam for a block in the way. Then enter the small passage using your Morph Ball mode. The tank will be there.
Dairon Missile Tank #11
For this one, you need to be in the Map Station, in northwestern Dairon. Start running to the left from this room and activate Speed Booster. Then, quickly activate the Shinespark and hold it. You need to release it on the wall on the left, below the blue panel.
You will unlock a new path. Use Screw Attack to break the blocks below and then follow the path on the right in Morph Ball mode. Fall to a new room and clean all the enemies. After you finish, use Speed Booster to the left and you will be able to pick the Missile Tank.
Dairon Missile Tank #12
From the Power Bomb Tank location (northern Dairon), go to the left. You will see the tank in the next room, on the lower floors.
First, you need to destroy the first block with a Bomb. Then quickly throw four missiles while standing on the platform on the left. Before the blocks respawn, go near the first Pitfall Block and use Cross Bomb to impulse yourself to the right.
Missile Tanks in Burenia
Burenia Missile Tank #1
After the first Network Station you find, go left and then descend to the lower floor. If you go right and enter the next room, you will find blue panels above. Use Spider Magnet to get attached to them. Then, go near the pool of water, charge your beam and release it after making a jump. You will unlock a secret passage that you can use with your Morph Ball form.
Burenia Missile Tank #2
Climb up the right side of the room that Quiet Robe opened when you met him at Ferania. Beware of the enemies around. On the upper left side, use a Bomb and destroy the block hiding the Missile Tank.
Burenia Missile Tank #3
From the Map Station, take the left door and climb up, fighting the two monsters in the way. Then hang on the blue panel on the right side and then throw a missile to the left. You will destroy a block and reveal the item's location. Quickly, jump to the left and use Flash Shift in mid-air. There will be a Missile+ Tank waiting for you.
Burenia Missile Tank #4
Start from the Green Teleportal room. On the right side of the place, plant some Bombs. You will unlock a new passage. Destroy the plants with your ice missiles. When you find a door on the right, enter inside that room (this also has an Energy Tank). This room above the path you need to follow next is the only place nearby that has enough of a "runway" to build up your Speed Booster. You need to go near the right edge of the floor.
From there, start running left while pushing the thumbstick to activate Speed Booster and shoot the door, if needed. You will break a secret path below.
Now the real deal begins. You need to repeat this same process. Return to the above room where you got the Energy Tank, start at the rightmost edge of the walkway, run left with Speed Booster, through the beam door, and the activate Shinespark right before you'd drop down to the lower level. If you did it correctly and Samus is flashing, quickly drop to the floor below and run to the right.
Maintain momentum and slide to clear the narrow gap (turning into a morp ball isn't fast enough). Fall down into the shaft (no spin attack!) and destroy the Beam Blocks below you in mid-air with your blaster as you're falling.
Now, before touching the floor, you need to release the Shinespark to the left, aiming at the ramp. If Samus is upright, all you have to do is press B in the air, then aim left, and she will shinespark to the ramp and start again running with Speed Booster activated. Keep running while holding the thumbstick pressed to maintain your boost.
In the next room you have to quickly slide under the overhang, and before falling down off the left edge, activate Shinespark again. As you're falling (upright), in mid-air, release the Shinespark and aim to the right. There's another ramp in that direction and Samus will maintain momentum running on it. However, the path is shorter. You need to activate Shinespark as soon as possible. Then fall down into the final pit and release it to the right. You will smash the final blocks and fall into a water-filled pit with the Missile+ Tank.
Burenia Missile Tank #5
After acquiring the Space Jump, you will return to Burenia to access a Plasma Door on the southwestern side of the area. This will be a room full of water.
Inside here, you will have to use your new ability to jump from the right to the left. There are shining spheres that lead the way. At the end of the path, you will have a blue panel platform that you need to move down — just touch it. The Missile+ Tank will be on the right.
Burenia Missile Tank #6
Once you got the previous Missile+ Tank, the next one will be shortly after. Pass through the Plasma Door on the left and, inside the new room, put Bombs on the floor. You will unlock a secret passage for your Morph Ball mode. Simply continue the way and you will find the new tank.
Burenia Missile Tank #7
Go to the room on the right side of the southwestern Energy Recharge Station and on the left of the Green Teleportal. This is a big location, full of water. Inside here, use your Speed Booster on the lower floor and then activate Spineshark in the middle (aim above you). You will break three blocks and pick up the Missile Tank.
Burenia Missile Tank #8
Start from the chamber with the Shuttle that leads to Dairon, in eastern Burenia. (There are actually two, use the one below). From here, go to the left and descend into the water until you reach the bottom floor.
Go again to the left and climb when needed. You will see the tank in the upper right corner. Use your Space Jump ability with your Gravity Suit.
Burenia Missile Tank #9
This tank is in a chamber right under the one in which you fought Drogyga. On the right side of it is a room with an Energy Recharge Station.
You just have to jump into the water and go all the way to the right. The Missile Tank will be on the right side, between two walls. Simply jump until you get it.
Burenia Missile Tank #10
After acquiring your new ability, you will return to Burenia from Artaria, using an elevator. Now you will be able to reach the Missile Tank available right next to the elevator room in Burenia. Simply jump to the upper left side of the place and break all the blocks using Screw Attack.
Burenia Missile Tank #11
After the double boss fight, you need to reach the platform on the upper left side of the room. There will be a Charge Beam Door. However, before going through it, shoot a missile to the floor. You will reveal a secret Missile Tank.
Missile+ Tank Upgrade: In the room to the left of the Network Station, there’s a large block cell above the watery pit, and its completely made of Screw Attack Blocks. Spin jump into the platform to reach the Missile+ Tank.
Missile Tanks in Ferenia
Ferenia Missile Tank #1
Start from the room of Escue’s boss fight. Go to the right and climb all the way up by destroying the blocks — you can break these with basic shots. This Missile Tank will be hidden in the upper right corner of the screen. Shoot a missile to reveal it.
Ferenia Missile Tank #2
Use the Cyan Teleportal from Burenia — it's behind a Storm Missile Box, on the west side of that area.
In Ferenia, go to the left and shoot the blocks above you. You will unlock your way to the Missile Tank right at the top.
Ferenia Missile Tank #3
In the Network Station at the western Ferenia (near the room with the Shuttle to Ghavoran), go to the left. Climb your way up by jumping or performing wall jumps. When near the door on the right, you need to put a Cross Bomb in the upper left corner of the screen. You will unlock a path right next to the Missile Tank.
Ferenia Missile Tank #4
Start from the chamber with the Shuttle to Ferenia and go to the room with water and a blue panel on the right. Put Bombs on the left wall, at the same height where the panel ends. It will unlock a secret path. Follow it and jump near the Pitfall Blocks.
From here, touch the first line of those blocks, fall, and use Flash Shift on the left. Use multiple jumps to reach the other side and the tank on the upper right side of the screen.
Ferenia Missile Tank #5
This one is right next to the previous one. Take the small passage on the right, descend, and go to the left. These blocks are breakable by common shots. Then, while descending on the new chamber, spot another small passage on the right.
Keep going and you will have to use Cross Bomb on the top right side of the screen, to break the pillar of Bomb Blocks. You will fall, so quickly go to the tank's location before the blocks respawn.
Ferenia Missile Tank #6
From the chamber with Hanubia's elevator, go below, then to the left. You need to enter a low-temperature zone. Go to the room with a Grapple Beam Door, then descend and go to the right, where there is a path of Bomb Blocks.
From here, use Speed Boost to the left, activate Shinespark and release it while in Morph Ball mode. Then shoot the floor and use the Grapple Beam on the block below.
Repeat the previous process (activate Shinespark in the same spot), but release aiming to the right it in your ball mode where the Grapple Beam Block was. The Missile Tank will be on the upper left side of the room.
Ferenia Missile Tank #7
From the room with the Shuttle to Ghavoran (west Ferenia), enter the room on the right and defeat all the creatures.
This is one of the trickiest runs in the game, so it's best to watch our video below to see how it's done:
While it's possible to get to the upgrade by using your Cross Bomb to traverse the brittle blocks, the best (and likely intended) way to solve this puzzle is to approach the level from the adjacent room (colored purple on your map) to the left, build up your Speed Booster, jump across the gap, then jump off the wall and slide through the narrow gap to the left-most room.
When you start in the large shuttle bay room, be close enough for the door to stay open. Press your thumbstick and run to the right to build up speed. As long as you don't stop, you will maintain momentum, including the jump across the next gap (figure 1 above) and then the wall jump above the beam door at the right of this room to the top platform to the left. Aim low on the wall (2) and land upright on the platform with the destructible blocks. Without stopping, activate your slide (L) and speed-charged Samus will clear the entire tunnel (3) to emerge in the room to the left (4).
Now, you can't activate your Shinespark power while in morph ball form, so it's important you slide through the tunnel rather than morph ball roll. Samus will be upright so you can activate by pushing the stick down and you have to immediately slide or roll right again to get under the two bomb blocks (5). Drop a bomb, and then as soon as it's detonating, release your Shinespark by pressing B and then up. This can be done in morph ball form, so don't bother standing up. Time is precious.
Samus will smash the blocks at the top and the Missile+ Tank will be on the left side of the room.
Ferenia Missile Tank #8
From Dairon's elevator room, go to the room on the right while activating Speed Booster. Before touching the wall, activate Shinespark and jump to the sides. Go through the small passage and destroy the Beam Blocks on the left. Fall there and release your Shinespark in mid-air, aiming right.
Missile Tanks in Ghavoran
Ghavoran Missile Tank #1
There's a hidden missile tank right near the item room at the top of Ghavoran.
You can't access it from the room directly adjacent to it (it's a one-way block exit), so drop down through the breakable blocks on the left and find a hidden destructible block in the item room (if you're returning late in your playthrough, it's easily recognizable because of the large statue).
Beyond the room is a network of morph ball-accessible tunnels. You can use your radar to help you figure out which blocks are breakable. You can bomb jump or simply jump up in some of the taller sections, but be sure to avoid or destroy the enemies that will move between their spawn points.
Grab the missile tank and then just exit the cave system via the unstable block capping its left exit.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #2
You can find this first missile tank in the bottom, left/west-most room near the elevator to Burenia. You can access it from the above rooms by bombing the ground and following the morph ball pathways to the ruins below. If you've got your Space Jump upgrade, you can easily just jump over to the ledge on the right and grab the upgrade.
If you don't, be aware that the platform leading to the upgrade will break away when you step on it.
Since you can't walk on those blocks, you can use your grappling hook to swing from the glowing connectors on the ceiling and close the last gap by flash shifting to the right.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #3
This missile tank is found on the bottom floor of Ghavoran in the large overgrown area adjacent to the connector to Dairon. It's easy to pick up right after you get your hands on the Super Missile.
All you need is the Grapple Beam: no skill required.
In this room with the large whale-like creatures, look for an underground section under one of the platforms to spot a grapple block that can be yanked out to get at the tank.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #4
Once you have the Super Missiles, you can get to another Missile Tank in Ghavoran by blasting open the shield protecting the doors to area here.
This room is located right above the place you got your Super Missile, but now that you have enough space to build up momentum, you can start up a Speed Booster dash and launch upwards into the alcove in the top right of the room, and then pull yourself up to find the Missile+ Tank in the top right.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #5
This tank is hidden behind a stack of Speed Booster blocks in the top left of this long room.
Grabbing it require an active speed boost and some timed jumping. Exit the room to the right by opening the grapple door to create enough space for your run.
Stand as far away as you can from the grapple door while in the shuttle room to the right but still in range to yank the door open (it'll lock again, so don't wait and start running left immediately). Once the door is open, quickly sprint through with your Speed Booster active. Do not activate Shine Spark as you cannot get high enough to destroy the blocks.
You have to maintain your Speed Booster in this room all the way to the end. As soon as you're in the room, jump the two gaps onto the high platform closest to the blocks while continuing to hold the thumbstick in, and then jump at the far edge of the platform to slam into the left-most wall and break apart Speed Blocks embedded here to find a Missile Tank.
As long as you maintain your boost and don't stop or bump into things, you'll be able to break the blocks and get the upgrade.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #6
The last missile tank is also the easiest to get. You can find it in the water-filled room to the right of the Burenia connector.
Open the grapple beam door to enter the area and jump into the green water. The upgrade is hidden in a small alcove right underneath that door. You can space jump your way over to the left to grab it. The Gravity Suit makes it as easy as jumping up.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #7
This next missile tank is near where you found tank #5 in the morph ball tunnels, but it's actually best grabbed from a different room.
It sits in a slope that connects the tall room to the right with the tunnel area. Go to the tall shaft and jump up to this hidden morph ball entrance:
Grab the tank upgrade on your way down to the breakable blocks (note: the upgrade was already collected in the above screenshot).
Ghavoran Missile Tank #8
There is a hidden missile tank at the end of a small tunnel near the two shuttle bays on the right/east side of Ghavoran.
You can access it from above via a shaft blocked by bomb blocks or from the left through a beam door that you can get to by rolling through this morph ball tunnel.
The missile tank is hidden on the bottom floor in the next room over. Use your Cross Bomb ability to get through easily.
Roll into a ball and bomb the blocks to the right to grab it in the corner.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #9
There's a missile tank in this narrow path just above the warp room.
You can access this tunnel either from the warp room by spin attacking the blocks on the ceiling, or by rolling through the morph ball tunnel at the top of the waterlogged area to the left. There's just one obstacle: three breakable blocks you can't just roll over.
Use your Cross Bomb power to boost yourself across them before they can break. To do that, position yourself to the left of the breakable blocks, drop a cross bomb by holding the charge button and move just a little to the right. When the bomb goes off, just push to the right and boost across.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #10
The final missile tank upgrade in Ghavoran sits in a brittle morph ball tunnel in this water-filled room at the center of the map.
To access it, drop into the water in this room right outside the E.M.M.I. area and bomb this block in the lower right to find a secret tunnel.
The next room is also partially filled with water, but your Gravity Suit lets you easily jump up to a morph ball tunnel on a ledge. Bomb the blocks to open up the path-- but don't rush it. As your ping reveals, most blocks here are unstable and will break if you roll over them to get to the tank.
This is where your Cross Bomb power-up comes in again. Enable it by holding R while placing your bomb while on stable ground, position your morph ball slightly to the right off it and use the explosion while holding right to quickly clear the crumbling path.
Ghavoran Missile Tank #11
This missile tank is right near the previous one, but it can be a bit tricky to find, mostly because it's not completely clear how to access it just by looking at the map. It's in the room adjacent to the warp station here. However, the access hatch is locked by default -- and the lock is in a different room.
To get to the upgrade, approach the room from the waterlogged area to the left. You can't break the spin attack blocks here, but you can morphball to the right and drop down.
Head down and to the right to access this room.
There are glowing targets on the walls that you can shoot with your Storm Missiles (lock on to all five targets) to open the lock. Stand near the mushroom and fire.
Go through the door and you can access the warp room through the floor and go through the now-unlocked gate to grab the missile tank.
Missile Tanks in Elun
Elun Missile Tank #1
In southeastern Elun, there's a room with a fan — it's on the left of an Energy Recharge Station. In front of the fan, you need to activate Speed Boost.
When your ability is on, activate Shinespark and quickly descend your way to the lower floor with a creature. You need to release your ability aiming up — you will break some Speed Booster Blocks.
Elun Missile Tank #2
For this one, you need to return to the pipelines where you found the Power Bomb Tank. Instead of breaking the Beam Blocks — the white ones on the west side of the area —, climb the right wall and start going up. You will have to use a Power Bomb here.
Follow the new path and you will find the Missile Tank on the left.
Missile Tanks in Hanubia
Hanubia Missile Tank #1
When you first visit Hanubia, speaking with ADAM is one of the first things you will do. After the chat, take the right door. In this new room, use Bombs to reveal a hidden passage.
Follow the path to the left, using Bombs and Cross Bombs when needed, and you will find the tank on the left.
Hanubia Missile Tank #2
This tank is on the left side of the Elite Chozo Solider arena — it’s exactly below the Total Recharge Station. You need to go to the left, crouch, and aim to the small passage on the right. Throw a missile and you will reveal the collectible.
