Modules
Once an outpost is unlocked in one of Expeditions: A MudRunner's locations, you will have the option to install base modules. Base modules are pricey, but they can provide a life line in helping you complete a particularly difficult expedition. Plus, if you don't need them anymore, they can be sold -- with a slight loss in value, of course.
Modules have to be unlocked by completing expeditions and contract before you can build them. Their usefulness ranges from providing you with an area to store loot, extra fuel, lower the cost of recovery or repairs, and even refuel/restock your vehicle at a distance with the most premium module, the Cargo Drone.
All Modules, What They Do, and How to Unlock Them
This basic module, available from the start, provides extra supplies for the one-time setup fee of 10,000. It carries 100L of fuel, 200 Spare Parts, and 2 wheels. The supplies are restocked whenever you exit the map.
Complete Breaking Brad - Grand Canyon Expedition or The Balance of Nature - SlipRock Swamps Expedition
Expanded Parking offers 8 wheels for the one-time cost of 15,000. The wheels are replenished after exiting the map. It also features a passive perk of reducing the cost of recovery (after your one free recovery) to the base with the module.
Complete Squatters Rights Grand Canyon Expedition or Stonefaced - SlipRock Swamps Expedition
The Workshop lets you exchange Spare Parts for Jack-Screws and Anchors. A Jack-Screw costs 200 parts and a set of Anchors costs 160.
Complete In Order to Preserve - Grand Canyon Expedition or Water is Life - SlipRock Swamps Expedition
The Warehouse costs just 10,000 Credits -- and it's a smart base upgrade to invest in. Drive a truck onto this module and you can store any unused tools or loot for later use. Exiting the map does not sell or erase your stored goods (but storage is map-specific). You can use it to drop off things you got from an Airdrop or even to horde things to sell. If you return later with a truck with ample storage and Manager equipped as your Specialist, you can maximize your sell value by hording things.
Complete Prepare for the Worst - Coconino Contract
Complete Hidden Traces - Wahweap Bay Contract
Complete Ancient Tales - Mountain Labyrinths Contract
The Intelligence Center reveals three undiscovered items on the map.
Complete A Blessing in Disguise - Unshakable Island Contract
Complete Where the Flow Goes - SlipRock Swamps Expedition
There's a reason the Cargo Drone module costs 50,000 Credits. It's an instant supply lifeline you can access from anywhere on the map. Simply open the map screen and find the module. Then select it to access its 300L fuel reserve and "deliver" it straight to your truck. But you can also access the shop remotely. So if you're planning to run a bunch of contracts on the same map, build the drone module and then simply get required items, such as Photo Traps or Portable Rigs remotely as you need them. There's a three use limit per map deployment.
Complete Lost Art - Dormant Volcano Contract
This module provides free, unlimited truck recoveries to the base with the module (after your free recovery is used). It costs 30,000 -- given that high price, you'll have to use recoveries a lot to get your money's worth.
