Absolutely perfect. The best game I’ve ever played and I’ve played a lot I have 300 hours and it’s addictive. So many bosses and places to explore. I mean just recently there was a sub Area that I found with over 300 hours in the game. Excellent characters but you can’t get too attached to them, amazing soundtrack. Makes me want to pull my hair out 24/7 but it’s good. Would seriously recommend even if you aren’t into this type of game

Just way too difficult and I also found myself feeling lost where I had no idea where to go next in order to advance the story. Terrible experience. Do not understand how this won GOTY or how it would be considered for GOTY.

Absolutely amazing game that I will remember forever. Some critiques are valid, namely that it tends to drag a bit in the last third, but this game SLAPS

You shouldn't need me to tell you this, but this game is a masterpiece.
I started playing back during release, and stopped about 5% through the game. What a mistake that was! I didn't know what I was missing! This has to be my favorite open world game I have ever played. Elden Ring does not suffer the same issues as other open worlds. In this game, you are suggested the correct path, but you can go almost anywhere you want whenever you want, minus a few key bosses that unlock certain areas. When I say this game has hundreds of hours of content, I mean it. There is always something to do. Even when you finish the game, You can go back through it as many times as you want on the same character. By far my favorite feature of the game is the build crafting. Not only can you spec into hyper-specific builds that specialize greatly in a few skills, you can also completely change your build about a dozen times per save! If you end up not liking your build, there is a very early game boss that unlocks the ability to completely re-spec into whatever you want.
I have yet to beat this game, but I have been playing it for 100 hours and have yet to be tired of it at all. This game will grab you by the throat and never let go. The massive rush of dopamine after beating a tough boss is only found in Fromsoft games like this. Every victory feels like a revelation.
Highly recommended. 9.9/10. You just can't miss this one.

As cool as this games open world is, I much prefer the level design and intricately woven together areas of previous Fromsoft titles. Dark Souls, Bloodbourne and Sekiro already felt massive in scale despite not being open world, not sure if we really needed this to be open world. I wouldn’t mind it as much if I didn’t have to go through what felt like the same 5 mini dungeons 1,000 times over. BUT, the legacy dungeons in this game stand among the series best. And all the main bosses in this game are incredible, the enemy design all around is phenomenal. In the end, this is big dark souls, for better or worse.

This game blew me out of the water! When I first heard about Elden Ring, I was like "meh", but when I finally decided to give it a try and oh boy was it worth it. The map is huge, and there is so much content to do. Completing everything the game has to offer to the last nook and cranny will take over 150 hours for an average player, and it never gets boring.
The only negative thing I have to say is how the difficulty curves. It was a steady curve for the most part, but when you get to the endgame the difficulty spikes significantly, and suddenly you're struggling with the most basic enemies again. The whole game is frustrating because of the difficulty, which for a souls game isn't a problem, but the endgame was a new level of frustration, and took away from some of the fun from my experience. But who knows, maybe I was just playing unoptimally.
Would definitely recommend for anyone who likes difficult games.

The feeling of playing a massive game while your friends also play, and sharing your discoveries and tragedies... unmatched. It isn't the same experience when the game has been out for a while and everything you discover has been documented on a dozen different wikis.
