Chucklefish are the developers and publishers of WarGroove. They are an independent games studio based in London, UK. They develop and publish games and provide support to other developers.
History[edit]
When Chucklefish formed in mid-2011, they were a handful of people spread across the globe with no studio experience, no funding, and an idea for a massive space game - Starbound. In April 2013, they hosted a pre-order campaign for Starbound through their own website using Humble widgets. They received an overwhelming amount of support from their community, raising over $1,000,000 towards the game's development in less than a month.
On 4 December 2013, they launched Starbound on Steam Early Access. In 2014, they were finally able to stop working out of their bedrooms and instead relocate to a central office in London, UK. Chucklefish has expanded quite a bit in the last couple of years - they have 18 full-time employees[1], but remains totally self-funded and independent.[2]
