About

educated as a engineer for electrical automation I know things like power electronics, (digital) signal processing, measuring electrical parameters, electric drives, simulating physical and electrical systems and of course programming with an emphasis on embedded systems and industrial controls.

I worked on AD and DA Converters (e.g. stuff for G3 mobiles), programmed with Labview (I liked it), programmed sw-modules for automotive ECU's, since 12 years now I work in the field of factory automation, maintaining older systems based on CAN but also working on some advanced industrial communication systems (physical layer, protocol, data processing), implemented modules for ASIC's in verilog, done HF Measurements on transmission lines plus evaluation in Matlab. And dozens of other little issues not worth mentioning here.

Today I program more or less exclusively in C++, after starting with pascal, C/C++, trying VisualBasic and Java, I find C++ is the most complete, most mature one and today offers a superiror tooling. And of course Domain specific languages like verilog, system-verilog, System-C, Matlab/Ovtave, Maxima, are always needful.

Last thing to mention: I love efficiency, optimize down to the bit and mathematical algorithms.
