I normally wear an 8.5 so ordered the 9. I was able to get them on at home, but at the pool, with my feet a little swollen, I simply could not get them over my heels. There is no stretch whatsoever. I understand they are supposed to be tight and the front fit like a glove but the heels ... now I have a hundred dollar pair of shoes that I need to find a home for, hopefully someone who wears a size 8.

Love these shoes but the fit is small. I had to go up a full size and even then the back dug into my heel. Sad to say that I had to return.

These should are adorable and I REALLY wanted to keep them. The the shoe fits tightly, which is fine for a water shoe. However, the back of the shoe really digs into my heel. Normally my heel slips out of most shoes, so I was surprised at how tight this heal was. I couldn't stand to have the shoe on for more than a few seconds. Super disappointed.

Perfect fit --neoprene conforms to your foot. These are perfect for beach, rocky shores, wearing on rainy days and early morning lawns with dew. I have in 3 colors!

I love these shoes. Like other reviewers have said, they run small. I normally wear a size 8M (in brands such as Cole Haan, Tory Burch, New Balance), so I ordered a size 9 based on the other reviews. The size 9 fits me perfectly! My advice is to definitely size up. As for the comfort / style / fit.....these were actually more comfortable than I expected. Normally, the sole of an espadrille is hard and inflexible. But these are made entirely of rubber, so they bend easily, which is nice when you walk. They are flat, so if you need arch support, you're out of luck. And, they do fit snug, so I did notice some "digging in" on my heels. I put a band aid on one heel to cushion it, and that helped. I suspect they may stretch out over time, since it was the first time I was wearing the shoes (wore them for 4 hours the first time). But overall, the look of these is great, and I highly recommend them. Also, I love that the sole of the shoe is made like a real deck shoe. If you will be on a boat, these are a great choice.

Very comfortable and chic at the same time. During the summer I wear them all day for every activity from walking my dog, to gardening to ocean bathing and for walks on the beach. In the evenings I love to pair them with white jeans for al fresco dinners. I always receive endless compliments on them. I own them in several colors and love them all! I highly recommend them. They are also great to take on vacation to the Caribbean or Maine where the beaches can be rocky or coral-filled. They are also great for boating where they are a chic alternative to sneakers.

These shoes are super cute. I ordered a size up based on reviews and was sure worth it. The back of shoe does dig into the heel and is uncomfortable, sad because the rest of shoe is very comfy. Hoping with some more wear they break in.

While I love the design, the shoes are well made and this is a great idea for a beach shoe, they seem to have a design flaw that significantly impacts comfort in a negative way. I ordered the correct size (6), while in regular shoes I wear a 5 (5.5 in certain brands) and while the shoes fit in length and width, the material at the back of the shoe is extremely tight and it rubs in to a level that is difficult to wear the shoes for a longer period of time. Ordering the next size (7) would have not solved the problem as they will be too large, so perhaps all that needs to be done is to have the design adjusted for this flaw. Unfortunately I cannot return them as the issue became visible after wearing the shoes for more than 2 hours at a time. At a first try they seemed perfectly fine.

I so wanted to love this shoe but sadly back they go. I normally wear 8.5 - 9 so after reading reviews I ordered a size 9. They were SO snug all over and painfully digging in the heel area. Also, I ordered the dark navy color and I would be very hard pressed to not think these were black. I would love to find a stylish shoe like this to wear from beach, pool, boat to lunch or office - these should have been that shoe but sadly they aren't comfortable for my feet.

So cute and perfect for the rain or the beach. BUT they are incredibly uncomfortable.

By the end of the day if your feet swell as mine do, they may be a little tight at first because they are a perfect fit when new. I expect they will stretch a little after a while. Otherwise, you are good to go. That being said, I love these shoes. I have another pair that I wear every summer out of water more than I wear on the beach/in water. the perfect summer shoe. While they don't have an arch support {and I do have a rather high arch), the shoes conform to your feet so well that you really do not need one. This works for me, and I am 67! I bought 3 pair in black, white, and the Frances Valentine Bright Floral, which is currently out of stock on the Sea Star Beachwear website. Shipping was swift too. The only downsides are that they are a bit pricy and that they are from China. I try to buy American as much as possible. But thanks, Zappos!

THANK YOU for making a cute water shoe. Love the espadrille style. Have only worn them a couple times but so far they are great. Took them paddle boarding as the shore was grassy and full of seaweed and they were perfect.

Ran small. I am a true 8 if you were to purchase these I would suggest going up a size

I had read the reviews talking about the shoe digging into the back of the heel and was slightly concerned but thought this might be a size issue that was customer specific. I received the shoe (which is very cute) and found after walking my dogs on the beach for approx 1.5 miles my heels were killing me. They really hurt. I am a true size 9 and can confidently buy size 9 shoes online and know they will fit. These are the exception. They are painful, they rub, and I have blisters. I wanted to love these. They are cute and waterproof (feel like neoprene). I purchased 2 pairs I was so excited. Unfortunately, these are not for me

Adorable shoes! Can’t wait to wear them. Def size up!!! I typically wear a 7 71/2 and purchased an 8. Although the dig in a little, I know they will stretch.

LOVE these - function and style are great and fit is accurate. The good fit of the back of the heels is going to cause blisters on my overly sensitive skin so I am returning them with regret. Good news is that the company also makes a sling back that hits differently so I can keep those! (see Seafarer Slingback Water Shoe)

Glad I sized up one whole size. The back of the shoe pitches the foot forward and my normal size would not have worked. I think these are cute and can't wait to try them our at the beach next weekend.

I love this shoe. It is cute and would be great to wear at the beach or for aqua aerobics. After reading the reviews, I ordered a larger size than I usually wear and it was falling off of my foot. Then I ordered my usual size 9 and it fits fine, but it is very tight across the arch. If you don't have high arches (mine are very high) your regular size should fit. I'm very sad to send this shoe back, but I know the top of the shoe will be really uncomfortable. I'm sad to send these back.

I am size 6.5 and bought the floral one and it fit well, no complaints. I love this brand, such a creative idea to make them look like espadrilles but be water shoes. They look so much more fashionable than other water shoes, although if walking on rocks, you might want more hardcore rubber soles. I used these at the beach and for kayaking. I bought the Cabana slide water shoe also and am happy with them too. These are good quality; I usually buy shoes that are $150-$550.

Amazing fit. The neoprene top is lightweight and easily moulds to your foot. The base is easily flexible and has great grip.

I bought the leaf print and love the design and color....but boy were they tight! I could get my foot in, but 3 problems. The band across the top has almost no give and it hurt, the band that runs around the back of the shoe, also has almost no give and that hurt too. Then the shoe was too small. I bought my usual size, but even if all other things were great, they weren't long enough. But they are well made, the stitching is strong and tight, the sole is substantial, like a real boat shoe. These do not look like water shoes.......you will be able to get away with wearing them with jeans or shorts. The braided detail looks and feels like rope.....I can't believe it's rubber. I will order again, 1 size larger to see if I can make these cute shoes work!
