WYFF News 4’s Marc Whiteman expands role to the anchor desk

WYFF News 4 sports director Marc Whiteman will expand his role and begin anchoring WYFF News 4 at 5 p.m., starting Monday, January 8.
“Marc has been telling the important stories of local athletes since he arrived in our community,” said WYFF 4 News Director Will Dillard. “He has produced award winning sports specials and will bring that same ‘Commitment to Excellence’ to our newscast every evening, continuing to grow as a trusted source for both news and sports.”
Whiteman joined WYFF 4 in 2019 as sports director. He will continue in that role in addition to his 5 p.m. anchoring duties. During his tenure, Whiteman has covered two football national championship games, Furman’s historic upset over Virginia in March Madness, and a South Carolina Women’s basketball championship run. He has won multiple awards, including a Southeast Regional EMMY in 2022.
