New release: Global Call to Action for Health Innovation Scale-Up by the Public Sector.
We are pleased to unveil the launch of the Global Call to Action for Health Innovation Scale-Up by the Public Sector.
This global Call to Action is intended to inspire governments and their innovation ecosystem partners worldwide to work together to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through health innovation.
We invite governments, international organizations, academia, industry leaders, and civil society to use it proactively in discussions among each other and with other governments and partners on how to use innovation, at scale, for the public good.
Our vision
Our vision is a world in which everyone can live healthy, productive lives, regardless of who they are or where they live – “health for all”. In today’s interconnected and complex global health environment, innovation in health represents a key opportunity to jointly accelerate progress towards this vision.
Currently, the world is off track to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and we will not achieve them through “business as usual”. The WHO Innovation Hub collaborates with Member States, the WHO workforce, and external partners to accelerate impact in public health by leveraging innovative approaches to change the current trajectory, saving lives and improving health.
Addressing health needs and gaps through innovation
Innovation in health encompasses novel approaches in a given context, responding to a public health need, with the ability to accelerate and sustain positive health impact.
These initiatives may include a wide range of innovative approaches including process innovations, new service delivery models, and technological advancements, such as telemedicine, and digital tools.
