Keeping with the hot trend of dropping a cool animated teaser for upcoming games, Sonic X Shadow Generations has seen a short and sweet first taste of a new mini series known as ‘Dark Beginnings’ appear online to get your engines running for the full game.
In it we see the dark and broody counterpart to Sonic lamenting the fact that while is a scientific marvel, his one failure is that he can’t assist with curing the illness of one Maria Robotnik, granddaughter of Gerald Robotnik and the cousin of Dr. Eggman. This is a plot point that was first explored in Sonic Adventure 2, back when Shadow the Hedgehog was first introduced.
Things quickly turn sour however, with the lab of Gerald Robotnik seeing some experiments breaking out of their containment – threatening the work of the doctor. Shadow speeds off to sort it out, and ends up clashing with an experiment that was threatening Dr. Robotnik Sr before the screen crashes to black and reminds us that the game comes out in October. The description of the video mentions that this is part of a 3-episode prologue event, so keep your eyes open for further chapters releasing down the track.
