WCVB’s “5 Fixer Upper” Provides Refreshed Outdoor Space for Veterans at Home Base in Charlestown
WCVB Channel 5, in collaboration with Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture, came together for a ribbon cutting on Friday, October 6th for a special "5 Fixer Upper" project at Home Base's National Center for Excellence in Charlestown, MA. Thanks to the generous support of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture and other valued partners of WCVB, Home Base is enjoying a rejuvenated patio space for the Veterans they serve. This revitalization effort includes the addition of stylish patio furniture, fresh plants and shrubs generously provided by Volante Farms in Needham, MA, and a cutting-edge sound system courtesy of Level Up Automation in Northborough, MA.WCVB is a longtime supporter of Boston-based Home Base, a national program that offers clinical care, wellness, education and research to help Veterans, Service Members, and their families heal from invisible wounds of war. WCVB, Boston’s news and community leader, has a great track record of galvanizing its advertising partners to work together on various projects throughout Massachusetts, yielding tremendous results for citizens throughout Greater Boston. Over the years, WCVB’s 5 Fixer Upper initiative has identified several local non-profit organizations in need of a “makeover” and facilitated in-kind donations and services with advertisers.
