Tornadoes were confirmed around Western New York Wednesday afternoon.

At 1:23 pm a confirmed tornado was located over Alden near Darien Lakes State Park, moving northeast at 40mph according to the National Weather Service Buffalo.
This follows a confirmed tornado around the Hamburg/Boston area earlier Wednesday afternoon, as well as a confirmed tornado in East Aurora.
The National Weather Service Buffalo has issued a tornado warning for Eastern Livingston County, Northeastern Allegany County, Southeastern Monroe County, and Western Ontario County.
The warning is in effect until 2:15 pm.
The National Weather Service reports that a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles southwest of Dansville, moving northeast at 45mph.
The National Weather Service stated in their latest report "To repeat, a tornado is on the ground. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris."
Flash flooding may also make driving difficult and dangerous, motorists should not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
A Tornado Watch is also in effect until 9 pm for all eight counties of Western New York.
The City of Buffalo is closing all splash pads and pools due to the tornado watch and severe thunderstorm warning. All scheduled outdoor events and activities in city parks are canceled.
