After false reports of her signing with an agent, the “Hawk Tuah” girl really does have a Hollywood team now. And she’s already putting them to work.

Spitting on the rumors

June 26, 2024: If you were excited to read Hawk Tuah: My Wet and Wild Life, you might have to keep waiting. Contrary to reports, “Hawk Tuah” girl Haliey Welch has not signed with a Hollywood agent off one viral drunken comment. Welch made online rounds last week for her … animated … answer when asked for a move “that makes a man go crazy every time” in a video on Nashville’s Lower Broadway. “Oh, you gotta give him that hawk tuah! and spit on that thing,” Welch said — miming it, too, as if she weren’t vivid enough.

Welch has been quick to capitalize on her moment, collaborating with her interviewers, Tim and Dee TV, on a line of merch. (Side note: Shouldn’t it be “hock tuah”? Like you hock a loogie? Anyway.) Even so, many were surprised when “Page Six” reported that Welch had signed with a literary agent at UTA known for working with Cat Marnell and Donald Trump. But TMZ quickly spit on those rumors, reporting that Welch’s signing was “overblown,” and “Page Six” since corrected their story to simply say agencies are “eyeing” her. So no, they’re not representing just anybody yet — though TMZ also left the possibility open that someone else could sign Welch in the future. Sorry to everybody who still can’t get an agent to read their script.

How’d she manage that?

July 10, 2024: Aaand that was quick. Days after false reports of her signing, “Hawk Tuah” girl Haliey Welch now does have representation. Welch signed with the Penthouse for management, per the Hollywood Reporter. “Isn’t God great?! Can’t wait for what’s ahead,” Welch said in a statement. Gotta say, we hadn’t pegged her as a woman of God given what she went viral for, but the world continues to be full of surprises! At least she’s already putting her new management to work, cashing in on her first appearance. TMZ reported Welch judged a bikini contest at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on July 7, and got $30,000 for the job. Now that’s nothing to spit on.

Correction, July 11: This story has been updated with the correct spelling of the “Hawk Tuah” girl’s name. It is Haliey, not Hailey, per her new publicist.
