Another Ubisoft exec has left following sexual misconduct allegations

Another Ubisoft executive has left the company after being accused of sexual misconduct.

According to Business Wire, Ubisoft confirmed in an internal email on July 31 that Tommy Francois – one of its most senior creatives – had left the company.

He is the latest executive to leave the Assassin’s Creed publisher, which has faced a significant number of accusations over the last month of sexual misconduct, harassment and assault.

As vice-president of editorial and creative services, Francois was one of the most senior creative minds at the Assassin’s Creed publisher and helped direct its biggest franchises.

He was also the right-hand man of former chief creative officer Serge Hascoet, who also left Ubisoft in July after a significant number of accusations were made against him.

According to a Bloomberg report last month, the editorial team’s culture of misogyny was reflected in the games they steered and they repeatedly pushed back on proposals to include female leads in the Assassin’s Creed games.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has promised extensive changes and has already ousted prominent figures including the company’s heads of HR and Canadian studios.
