The Witcher 3: A Walk on the Waterfront walkthrough

Act as a bodyguard to earn a bit of coin.

A fisstech dealer in Novigrad needs help being escorted to safety, and Geralt unknowingly can choose to help, provided you're lucky enough to run into the A Walk on the Waterfront quest in The Witcher 3 and not overlook it entirely.

While easy to miss, you're not missing out on much by neglecting the quest, but Geralt can net some coin and some insight into the shady fisstech scene of Temeria's underworld. Without further ado, here's how to complete the A Walk on the Waterfront quest in The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3: A Walk on the Waterfront walkthrough

To start the A Walk on the Waterfront quest in The Witcher 3, head down to the Novigrad docks and wander about for a bit. You should come across a nobleman being hassled by three bandits, provided that you're here before completing Count Reuven's Treasure.

If you ignore (or overlook) this encounter, the nobleman is killed and the quest is lost to you forever. Don't worry about it, though. This is a secondary quest with minor rewards, so it's no big deal.

Step in, though, and the nobleman introduces himself as one Ginter, and asks you to keep him safe on his walk to the nearby port.

Agree, apply Hanged Man's Venom, and walk just behind Ginter as he heads east. When he approaches a loading crane, run ahead and beat up the four bandits waiting to ambush him. Make sure to keep Ginter alive during this and any following encounters. If he dies, you'll fail the quest.

Follow behind again until Ginter is about to go under a wooden platform; you'll need to beat up another four bandits here.

You should be clear till the far end of the docks now. Meet the dealers that Ginter has arranged some business with. You can elect to honour your original contract by saying "right" when Ginter asks for backup, or say "wrong" to standby and watch him be killed. In either case, you get your pay and the quest will be completed.
