Why Me?

Oh, are you actually reading this part? Well, thanks! In that case, you may be interested to know that I have been a graphic and/or visual designer for over 20 years, cutting my teeth on Photoshop 5.0 and Illustrator 8.0. In that time, I have designed and built dozens of websites, created many a logo and branding element, and offered mountains of tech and online advice to clients, coworkers, friends, associates, and combinations of each.

I spent 15 years creating digital, print, and web assets, drawings, and production files for a long-running retail interior decor company. My last 3 years have involved working with countless platforms and technologies for an online marketing agency, with a strong emphasis on WordPress, marketing platforms like Kajabi, Keap, MailChimp, team management platforms like Trello, Slack, and Teamwork, more domain registrars and web hosting companies than I knew existed four years ago, and much more. Oh, and I handle my own clients in between.

I have also been with RPGFan since 1999, starting as an early writer and design volunteer, eventually becoming Editor-in-Chief and then owner of the site. I still write, edit, record and edit podcasts, schedule content, and manage a team of 50+ people. We are one of the longest-running sites of our kind, and I consider the work that I and my team do there one of my proudest accomplishments, as we have grown from a small fan site to an industry-recognized voice in the video game media.

I swear I actually do things that aren’t digital, too! I have a powerful interest in photography, a diverse (I like to think eclectic) taste in music, and I think I’m allowed to call myself a foodie given my penchant for always trying new things, both in eating and preparing food.

I have extreme fondness for kind people and people who insist on doing the right thing and speaking up for the rights of others. When working with people, I make every effort to not only give them what they want and need, but to help empower them. For those of us who are tech or design-savvy, it’s great when we can use it to benefit others, but I always want to use what I know in a way that improves others’ lives or work. I never want to just tell someone how something should be, but why it should be. I want to share what I know so clients can learn that some of this stuff isn’t that scary, after all.

Now that you know what I’m about, let’s talk about what I can do for you!
