Former Heavyweight Champ Joins UFC 303 Fight Card

All eyes turn to Las Vegas at the end of June when UFC 303: McGregor vs Chandler caps 2024’s International Fight Week. Conor McGregor’s return to competition after breaking his leg at UFC 264 is as monumental as any fighter’s bounce back from injury, and he has the perfect dance partner for a memorable night in Michael Chandler. The former title challenger and former double-champ have stewed over the prospect of fighting each other since coaching against one another on The Ultimate Fighter.

As always, a McGregor card brings more eyeballs, which means big opportunities for other fighters to put their name on the map. However, for veterans, it serves as a reminder that they very much have what it takes to get it done. Such is the case for former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski. The eternal Arlovski makes his 42nd jaunt to the Octagon when he fights Martin Buday and hopes to snap his 3-fight losing skid.

Buday is a tough task, however. He came into the organization on a 9-fight winning streak, capped with a win on Dana White’s Contender Series in October 2021. From there, he racked up four consecutive wins before Shamil Gaziev handed him his first loss in the Octagon. The bout serves as a perfect get-back opportunity for the 32-year-old “Badys.” Although Arlovski is 45 years old, he still commands the respect and aura of a former champion.

UFC 303: McGregor vs Chandler takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 29, 2024. Stay tiuned to UFC.com for any and all changes to the fight card.
