What?! Diane von Furstenberg Posted a Photoshopped Pic of Bruce Jenner in Her Dress

And quickly found herself under-fire.

Designer Diane von Furstenberg has found herself among the likes of Kris Humphriesand Alice Eve after posting a Photoshopped image of Bruce Jenner, wearing a DVF dress, drawing criticism.

"Bruce Jenner...you are the woman you wanted to be!" she captioned the edit job posted to Instagram, which portrayed Jenner's face on a photo of the designer herself in the '70s. The photo was removed after causing a social media firestorm, but you can see it here.

Her post continued: "I salute your strength, courage and honesty. By speaking out, you have spoken for so many who suffer...Love Diane."

She also tagged Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner in the post.

Despite good intentions, social media users quickly criticized the post for being insensitive. Von Furstenberg hasn't directly publicly addressed the controversy, but issued a statement to People:

"I admire Bruce Jenner's strength, courage and honesty and have so much respect for him using his voice to speak for people who have none. I wish him nothing but a lifetime of happiness."
