We use the WhatsApp Business to manage our communications with all of our mentors and volunteers. Four separate members of staff are all able to log in to the account on their laptop and respond to messages in real time as they come in making sure there are no issues or delays with responsiveness or helping our mentor pool out.

Usability

Overall I think that WhatsApp Business is a really useable application that is intuitive to use. Because so many people already know how to use WhatsApp and how it works so there is very little tutorial or instruction needed of staff, they can just easily pick it up and know how to use it best.

Alternatives Considered

Slack

Slack is preferable for internal business comms whilst WhatsApp Business is better for communicating to customers or mentors. This is because Slack has task management and calendar integration features. WhatsApp is best for customers because they have it on their phones already and use it regularly as a habit making them open and responsive to the tool.

WhatsApp Business is definitely really well suited to a business where you need to share access to communications and responses. At my company four staff members are all logged in to the account in their laptop and are therefore able to use the communal WhatsApp Business account as a communal inbox to ensure speedy and timely replies all the time.
