I use BambooHR for the employee life cycle, onboarding, offboarding, PTO. It helps us keep track of all PTO taken, employee changes, annual reviews, applicant tracking etc. We also use the dashboard to house all links that leads to frequently used forms for employee reimbursements as well as links to get to outside websites necessary for employee changes.

BambooHR is great for all things HR in my opinion. I think it is very user friendly for admins as well as employees that have less permissions. I wish the time tracking system was a bit more robust so that we could use that function. BambooHR has lots of nice functionality and I love that we can use the mobile app to download employee contact information to our phones, making it easy to be able to contact anyone within our organization.

I handle the payroll side of BambooHR for my organization. One of the biggest problems BambooHR has helped us address is a disconnect between payroll and HR. By integrating these functions into one program, errors are reduced--for example, BambooHR would prevent a situation where an employee was terminated on the HR side but payroll was not notified or missed an email. By integrating the functions, room for human error is greatly reduced.

  • No ability to enter recurring negative pay
BambooHR is fairly well suited for most situations. It would thrive in scenarios where many employees are paid a set salary, or a combination of salary and hourly, and where payroll is pretty straightforward with few situations outside the ordinary. Companies with many commission-based employees and/or many unusual situations may be benefited by exploring other options--though BambooHR can certainly still work.

I use BambooHR in my company to review and update my personal and work details. I have the option to log any errors. Also I have the option to ask for approval for anytime overtime that I have done. That then goes for the Approval Process. I can also see the reviews done on my salary and how much is it. I can see and manage my partner and emergency contact on BambooHR. I use it for Company's Directory purposes as well. Its really a helpful too overall.

BambooHR is our HR single source of truth. We previously stored all of our docs in SharePoint. As we grew, this became unwieldy. In addition, we needed a place to centralise our HR-related policies, manage PTO, and manage the review process, all of which had been ad hoc before implementing BambooHR. Additionally, because of an integration with Vanta, which we use to manage our compliance programme, we are able to effectively manage HR-related compliance issues, such as managing access to our SaaS tools.

I've used BambooHR since 2018 for two different companies. BambooHR developers continue to improve the product over time.

The two companies I've used Bamboo with have been smaller companies (<150 employees). I don't know how BambooHR would scale for a materially larger enterprise. I suspect there is a sweet spot at which a different HRIS might be better suited.

We used BambooHR for tracking HR policies, benefits, training & wage increases, for onboarding, offboarding, performance reviews, candidate tracking for hiring campaigns, storing HR documents, time off requests etc. It helped us move away from spreadsheets and paper documents and allowed us to set up policies with reminders so that important dates and tasks never got forgotten. Even for a small business of 10-15 it was invaluable in streamlining our HR processes.

After almost 4 years as a loyal customer, they restructured their subscription packages moving us from top tier to mid tier and moving some of the add-on features we were paying extra for into the top tier. At that point they told us that unless we upgraded with a 75% price increase we would no longer receive upgrades to those features. The point of subscription software is that we are paying for the continual development and upgrades. In my opinion, it is totally not ok to force existing customers to pay monthly for legacy software. I tried to negotiate with them and ask for some kind of compromise, like grandfathering us into top tier only for those features or perhaps a discount on top tier for a period of time. They absolutely refused to work with me, and, in my experience, straight up refused to let me talk to a manager, insisted that I had to take the full price increase to retain updates for the features I'd already been using for years. In my experience, when I told them that was a terrible way to treat a loyal customer and that I would take my business elsewhere they were fine with it. I think perhaps because we are a small business, they don't see it worth their time to keep us as a customer. I would warn everyone away from BambooHR as, in my opinion, you can't trust the prices they tell you you'll pay. I think it is an unethical and awful way to treat loyal customers. From a company that preaches about treating people well from an HR perspective, in my experience, they sure don't understand how to treat customers.

central location for all info on employees. We're still setting things up to include: benefits info, bonuses, commissions, RRSP rates. Effective dates need to be more specific: First day worked vs last day paid for LOAs/RTW. I think some of the reporting is being discovered. adding more fields to specify details.

We use BambooHR for the HRIS &amp; Goal setting functions. For myself, I use it for payroll purposes and tracking incentives/commission structures. I do find that the comment fields are not that flexible and have to find work arounds to view various structures.

BambooHR has significantly improved our document organization processes, and streamlined onboarding for our organization. We use BambooHR for onboarding, document storage, e-sign, offboarding, hiring, performance, and more! It allowed our staff to have a place where they know they can get access to the information they need, and quickly!

  • Not only do they invest in their product, but the HR community entirely through blogs, research, and annual trainings.

We use BambooHR for our primary HR software for onboarding, offboarding, performance management, ENPS, and recruiting efforts. We have approximately 200 employees that are in the system. We do not currently use BambooHR for Payroll or anything other advanced functions as we do that in-house.

BambooHR is also great for maintaining documentation and signature templates. It's greatly decreased the amount of printed paper we've needed at any time.

The employee interface is nice and easy to use. Reporting capabilities are adequate. Time tracking and PTO tracking is good. Document setup, features and storage are good. Payroll still needs some work. If you don't use the BambooHR benefit platform, it is cumbersome and time consuming to enter and update employee benefits for payroll purposes.

We were looking to automate processes and centralize all the company's information on a single platform with the ability to generate customizable reports to meet the changing needs of our industry. Currently, we have information loaded for more than a thousand employees and over 40 administrative processes. Our current challenge is to improve the processes to adapt them to the platform.

Specifically for Mexican companies, it presents a particular challenge for the platform when trying to comply with Mexican laws and their processes. Ensuring adherence to these complex and detailed legal requirements adds an additional layer of difficulty in customizing the platform effectively for the Mexican market.

BambooHR is all encompassing, it addresses many problems. The major surprising functions include the onboarding process, offboarding process, the built-in document signing capability, along with reporting but there is a lot more.
  • Onboarding - this function is extremely important and saves the HR department and manager alike, tons of time.
  • Offboarding - this function is done really well as it manages the tasks for HR, IT, payroll and the manager.
  • Policy signing - this function has been remarkable to ensure the company is in compliance and has all the documents signed, that need to be signed.
  • Announcements - great function for helping our employees stay informed
  • The org chart is a little difficult to move and review because the review pane is so small.
  • I would like the ability to upload a candidate directly into a candidate pool, instead of having to put them into an open req first.
BambooHR is a perfect fit for the size of our organization (approx. 150 employees). It has all the functionality we were looking for plus more we didn't even know we needed but pleasantly surprised.

The main business problem for our company that BambooHR tackles really well is the need for having a platform where all of the HR tools can be found, and that it is easy to use. The learning curve on BambooHR is not that big. It is also affordable, as a small business we don't have a big budget for softwares and tools. However, once we started using BambooHR we noticed the importance and how useful it is. Now we cannot operate without it.

We have had a lot of onboarding done in short periods of time as we hire coop students from universities. Once we had to onboard 20 employees in a span of one week so BambooHR made it very easy and smooth to have this done.

This allowed us to gather important documents from employees without having to keep tracking them down to submit their documents as BambooHR took care of it.

BambooHR is a great tool that allows me to create reporting for Estaff easily! It's highly customizable, and onboarding new employees is super easy. It's also a very intuitive product—easy to navigate and use! It has a slew of integrations with other ATS. I highly recommend this to any org!

BambooHR helps us manage HR operations with our fully remote team. We use the platforms for all HR operations; we use only the onboarding functionality for recruiting.

With my position, I primarily use BambooHR to document trainings. This is a very handy and convenient tool, but it could be better. I am also a daily user of BambooHR for personal use. Filling out the time card, locating files, or updating personal information is simple enough for anyone to use.
  • BambooHR provides a clean, easy to follow layout
  • I like the customizable dashboard
  • BambooHR has a great ability to run very specific reports
  • I would like to be able to mass add or delete information in the Training Duration section. Same with the Certifications section.
  • If possible, it would be great to have a pto calculator that would work for companies who base pto off of accrued hours.
BambooHR is very clean and I have had good experience with reaching out and being provided answers quickly.

Before BambooHR, we were the typical small business using multiple spreadsheets to track information for a 20-person firm. In one year, we doubled our size; however, our HR department did not. Keeping track of wages, benefits, recruiting efforts, PTO, and basic team member information became cumbersome. BambooHR allows us to house all of the information in one place and put settings in place so sensitive information is kept secure.

  • Personally, the current performance package does not quite meet the needs of our industry.

It's helped smoothly bring on new team members and give candidates great first impressions! BambooHR is always innovating and developing new features for us to get the most out of the software. My absolute favorite new feature has been the benefits package, which made open enrollment a breeze for our team and me!

We use BambooHR for ATS, Onboarding, Documents, Notes, and Files and will start using the Payroll, Timekeeping, and Benefits tabs effective 07/01/2024. We're excited to transfer to a user-friendly system and have just 1 HRIS system to help reduce redundancies. The Help feature is nice and efficient, and the representatives are always fast, nice, and courteous. Our employees like using BambooHR the most out of all our HRIS systems (we've had 5 in the last three years).

The bamboo help feature is very reliable and efficient and has a first-time resolution for any error or question I've ever had. Having that trustworthy and dependable feature available for a fast-paced HR professional is great. The site is extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate. BambooHR is less appropriate for FMLA/ADA tracking hours used or balance remaining. We have the option to record it within the timekeeping system for visibility, but to date, the last time we used Bamboo timekeeping, I had to maintain a separate spreadsheet to track FML hours used - this could lead to human error with calculations and not efficient the entire process can't be managed within BambooHR.

We currently have the Advantage Plan and begin using BambooHR as our HRIS in Fall of 2023, then began using it for Payroll the first of 2024. We plan to implement the Pro Package later this year. It's much easier to use than ADP and very intuitive. We are excited to have the Form Signature Options and use it for on and off boarding as well as recruitment.
  • Excellent training videos.
  • Three ways to request help phone, chat or support ticket.
  • Intuitive - easy to find things and make changes.
  • Have a more robust report builder that has all the data as a filter.
  • Not all reports are able to be downloaded in different formats. I would prefer, csv, excel and PDF for all.
  • More options in the report builder to be able to customize your own reports instead of having to pay at least $200 for a simple report.
We are a small staff of 26 with three people maintaining different Features so it seems very easy to set-up and implement.

I'm not sure how it would work for a very large org.

We use Bamboo for hiring, onboarding, employee personnel files, and timekeeping. It is a huge help to have all of these services on one platform. I especially benefit from using the hiring services. It is great to send automatic messages and to track our progress in the interview process. It is also really easy to send offer letters.

I think it is well suited for organizations that are doing large-scale hiring and have large teams to keep track of. It might be less necessary for smaller teams. However, I think most orgs can benefit from Bamboo HR because it makes staying organized accessible.

Our company uses BambooHR for its multitude of HR sources. The HR department is able to upload insurance information for our employees, and our employees are able to make their PTO requests, clock in and clock out, and review their time cards. Supervisors are able to manage their employee's timecards as well. We also use the directory portion of BambooHR.

Our company has used some other platforms in the past for managing timecards and hours, but this has been my favorite one so far. Clocking in and clocking out is quick and easy for employees, as well as making requests for time off in the future. Accessing tax documents and paystubs is easy as well. Employees can access their information well and without needing to seek assistance from an HR rep. We do need to work with reps for insurance questions, which would be nice to have more accessible if they could be uploaded.
