Ever since she burst onto the country music scene, Lainey Wilson has commanded attention with her killer vocals. But the singer has been making headlines for another reason lately: her toned physique.

Wilson is still rocking her signature curves, but fans were quick to take notice when she started trimming down last year.

Rumors spread that the 32-year-old dropped upwards of 70 pounds and she did it with the help of weight loss gummies, two claims she was quick to address.

Ahead, learn what the singer's had to say about the speculation about her body and the true reason for her weight loss.

How much weight did Lainey Wilson lose?

After tabloids started speculating Wilson lost 70 pounds, the singer set the record straight on the Big D & Bubba radio show in 2023.

"Hell no!" she said in response to the rumors.

Wilson went on to reveal how much she really lost.

"I have lost weight. I probably lost about 20 pounds," she said.

Did Lainey Wilson take gummies to lose weight?

When Wilson dropped a few pounds, rumors quickly spread that she had taken gummies to lose weight. In June 2023, the singer took to Instagram to set the record straight.

"Alright y’all, by now I’m sure a lot y’all have seen some ads about me losing weight, being hospitalized and then I started taking some weight loss gummies and blah blah blah that saved my life. Well surprise, it ain’t true,” she said in a video message. “People will do whatever to make a dollar, even if it is lies. Cause ain’t nobody sent me any gummies.”

Wilson urged her followers to be skeptical of any similar rumors they might hear.

"PSA if y’all have seen these ads, they’re entirely fake. Don’t fall for them and help me out by reporting them when you see them 🤘🏻," she captioned the post.

So, how did Lainey Wilson lose weight?

Wilson isn't obsessing over the number she sees on the scale, and she told fans her busy lifestyle is the reason her body has changed.

“If I have lost weight, it’s because I am working hard and playing hour and a half shows and running around every night of my life,” she said in her Instagram video. “And to be honest me losing weight or gaining weight ain’t got anything to do with my music.”

While talking with Audacy in 2023, the singer said her stadium tour shows keep her super active.

"If I don't actually get a workout in during the day I don't feel bad because I know I'm gonna get one that night," she said.

She's a fan of meal prepping

While talking with Delish in 2023, Wilson explained that she tries to plan ahead for meals while she’s on the road touring.

“I will say I feel like I’m becoming a little bit more prepared than I used to be,” she said. “I really do enjoy meal prepping and having things handy, because I feel like when you don’t have those things handy, that’s when you mess up and that’s when you eat something that makes you feel bad.”

Of course, no one is perfect, and Wilson said she does find it challenging to eat three meals a day while touring.

“It’s really hard to make sure that you’re disciplined enough to do that. I try my best that I possibly can,” she said.

She has a list of go-to healthy foods

Wilson told Delish some of her go-to meal options are scrambled eggs for breakfast, yogurts or salads for lunch and grilled chicken for dinner. When it comes to snacks, some of her healthy options include hummus and almonds.

She believes in splurging in moderation

Wilson has a sweet tooth and leaves room for daily indulgences.

“Even if it’s just a little piece of candy, I’ve got to have my dark chocolate,” she told Delish. “At some point in time, I will have a bite of chocolate every single day.”

Regardless of her body before and after weight loss, she wants fans to listen to the music

Being in the public eye often opens you up for unwelcome comments about your body, and that’s something Wilson knows all too well.

In recent years, many people have paid extra attention to the singer’s ahem, assets, and she told KMLE Country 107.9 that somebody even started an X account dedicated to her behind. It’s easy to get frustrated when people are harping on your body, but Wilson said she tries to keep things in perspective.

It's easy to get frustrated when people are harping on your body, but Wilson said she tries to keep things in perspective.

“I’m like you know what? At the end of the day, if (my body) is what brought people to my music and they stuck around because of it then to hell with it,” she said. “Now, I mean it’s a little weird in the beginning like being sexualized, but also I’m like I’ve worked my fingers to the bone. I’ve been in Nashville for 12 years and I’m not gonna let it slow me down.”

She’s been sexualized for her curvaceous body

Wilson also compared her situation to that of Dolly Parton's, who has also attracted attention for her figure throughout her career.

“You know at the end of the day, we were talking about Dolly. I mean, she flaunts it, she’s proud of it!” she said.

In 2022, Wilson posted a video to her Instagram account and said she’s astounded by all the attention her butt receives on social media.

“I can’t even scroll on TikTok on my ‘For You’ page without seeing my fat butt on everything,” she said. “It says hashtag-trend! Whatever brings the people in, whatever brings the people in! But I’m just letting y’all know, go check out my record, Bell Bottom Country. Happy to have ya either way. However you found me, I’m happy. I’m happy you’re here!
