CONFIRMED: Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz are married

Never say never, Cameron Diaz!

The blond bombshell actress, who has previously denounced monogamy and claimed she isn’t the marrying type, is officially hitched. Diaz wed her rocker beau, Benji Madden, on Monday evening, according to a representative for the duo.

Madden and Diaz “were married this evening in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles,” their rep told People magazine, and those in attendance read like the casting credits of one of Diaz’s films. There were 100 guests, including Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samantha Ronson and Robin Antin, according to Us Weekly.

Diaz’s bridal party consisted of her sister Chimene, Drew Barrymore, Nicole Richie and her assistant Jesse Lutz. No big surprises here, considering Richie claims she hooked up Diaz and Madden, who just happens to be her brother-in-law, and it’s a widely known fact that Barrymore and Diaz have been as thick as thieves since filming Charlie’s Angels in 2000.

Word began to spread on Monday morning that a wedding would be going down later in the day, though Diaz and Madden tried to confuse the public by holding their nuptials on a random Monday and telling people the event was actually a party for the Golden Globes.

“There is a lot of security and they are trying to keep the wedding hush-hush by telling neighbors that Cameron is having a pre-Golden Globes party tonight,” a source told People early on Monday. “It will start past dark tonight. They are setting things up in the lush backyard.”

Madden and Diaz went public with their relationship just eight months ago and news of their engagement started to leak very late in 2014, when the actress began stepping out and sporting a fairly sizable rock on her left ring finger.

So what’s next for the woman who everyone thought was gonna rock her single status for life? “If a family happens, then it happens,” Diaz said in Marie Claire magazine in November. “If children come to me, then I would do that, but I’m not someone who feels like she has to do something because it’s expected.”

First comes love, then comes marriage…
